Fast Freddy Rahmer dominates the WoO and the Williams Grove National Open!!!! From the sounds of his victory lane interview and after having discussions with his family it sounds like he is going out the way of Lynn Paxton with last night being his final race and putting Stevie Smith in the car the rest of the season.

Awesome! I was hoping Fast Freddy would win the Open before he "retired". I put the word retired in quotes because I wouldn't be surprised if Rahmer finds a SBM to screw around with in coming years.

While it would be very cool to see Fast Freddie in a mod again all these years later, Grandview and Big Diamond are full contact racing to the max. I don't know that he'd want to put that much stress on his body this late in life.

But they they do pay just about as much as the Grove and Lincoln, and they have a pretty good amount of raised purse specials between them. And there have been rumors that Bob Faust is looking to get back into owning a race car. Could maybe be a match made in heaven.

But I'd think It would be way cooler if he just walked away entirely. It would be so badass.

I've known Fred since the days he ran the Joe Harz car. He will follow in the footsteps of one of his heroes Lynn Paxton and never race again. This year was about stuffing it down the throat of his old team. "They had me dead and buried. I'm not dead yet. The one thing I learned from the last couple years is that the people you are with can beat you way easier than the people you race against.” I'd say he accomplished his goal in spades.

Well said. I surmised that he might not walk away for good strictly because he seems like he has to keep himself busy. What ever his decision, he's had a hell of a career.
