i heard that they had the front stretch guide rails out and they were already adding dirt to turns one and two before the chili race was ran .

So the website says that the new part of the track has to settle for at least a year, does this mean that the track will stay the same size for next year?

http://www.americasm...m/construction/ Here's a link to what's going on...

I think leaving the fill sit for a year before they extend the track is a wise decision, Central PA had its fair share of issues with fill and then racing on it to soon...

I'm anxious to see what the new clay does... Back when I started going to Hidden Valley.. This place was EASY on tires.. 23's, 33's all night.... Working with what he had as far as clay last season... Most guys were on 38 or harder..

I give Jeff and his crew LOTS of credit on the work they have done!!

are they filling in with dirt or are they using shale ? seems to me shale would be a better building base then put a few feet of clay on top of it , whatever the gears you are now running will be useless ,it will be like marion center size .

Jeff is definitly using shale, strip shale in turns one and two. Front and back stretches will both be wider. Lots of work ahead of him, but he's determined. I can't wait.

It is dirt from the pipe they are replaceing at the bottom of the hill not shale but if he waits for it to settle it will work just fine
