I wanted to give everyone an update on what has happened with the radio issue this week. Track staff have done three different tests so far this week and they have worked perfectly with the changes that were made. I have called and e-mailed series directors Mike Emhof and Dean Reynolds and found out what I could. Here are some ideas for keeping the radios as good as possible. When they are not in use (you are not on the track) turn them off. The batteries only last about four hours. Keep them out of the cold. Cold temps drain the battery as well. The real test will come this Saturday. I hope this helps, we are trying evething we can to make this right and we will continue to work on it until it is right! Blake D. Lirette

are they using the same channel as eldora?. would make it easier for every one instead of switching them from one track to another.

Andy will be able to answer all questions at the track on Saturday. Right now between the two of us there are too many things going on. I am sorry for that answer but I promise, as does Andy that all problems will be fixed if they are not already with the radios.

blake you dont have to answer any of my questions im just a fan who likes to watch. it just seems like a lot a tracks are going to the radios. there is always a chance of some drivers who runs different tracks. and if different tracks run different channels. drivers could start reling on the radios more then the lights and flagman. if they would forget to switch , and a problem pops up and all the drivers stop and he doesnt hear it , it could cause a problem. its just a safety issue. like i said i think the radios are a great idea.

Last week they put what channel they were on up on the lineup board. That does not mean that everybody noticed it but it was on there. I know that I had a problem with my radio at first and they gave me another one and it works fine. I did find out that if you turn them up to far you cant understand what they are saying but I had mine about half way and had no trouble hearing even during racing so the volume does not have to be all the way up. I think that once they get all the bugs worked out it will be nice to have and will definetly make it alot safer for the racers and a litlle more organized for the fans in the stands. You know when you start getting up there in years your eyesight is just is not as good as it once was so anything that helps is great.

Sat. night was the first time the mini sprints were able to use them, we liked them. The only problem we found with them was in the feature they were telling us we were going green but the front couple rows were watching the light and it was yellow and the flagman was signaling one to go as we came out of 4. Even with the light on there were some from the rear that start racing which ended up in one on it's top. Some peolple were blaming the front row for not going but we were watching the lights and flagman. We checked with others and they also said that the radio said going green and the flagman was going with one to go. I understand they had this problem before also but I'm sure it will be correct as we talked to Brad after the race and he to caught it on his radio and was going to discuss it with Andy. Other than this they worked great.
