Haven't seen it mentioned yet on here but curious of other RUSH crate teams opinions of the new "no cutting or grooving" tire rule for next season??

Nevermind, Just seen the email. Personally, I hope they keep letting us groove and sipe the tires. I do not like this rule.

I am in total favor of this new rule ... Why would you wanna groove and sipe? I spend atleast 15-20 mins on each tire we run. It does make a huge difference if you do or dont . If everyone is on the same tire, it doesnt matter and might even the field some more. I would like to see a 55 RR rule for all features .

for a low funded team that ran most of the season recutting used tires from other teams, this rule is not good.

The only people who will like this rule are lazy teams. Tire bill just went up once edges are gone tire is junk. However ifwe could cut it we could make new edges. Also who will buy a 55 now that you can't cut or sipe it? Nobody unless you put everyone on a uncut rr 55 like Sharon.

Tommy, we're screwed at PPMS. 21's are too soft and 55's will never fire without being cut up. Agree 200% on the laziness of those wanting this rule. Go race on the blacktop somewhere if you don't want to work on tires! This is going to hurt the quality of racing in the series if you want my $.02!

please explain how your screwed. everybody will either where out a 21, or everybody will not heat up a 55. same cars will figure it out, as they say.as for lazyness, jus plain stupid to say. everybody did it last year, it is just unnecessary. you want to make it cheaper, just put all 55's on all the time. but we are not worried about that, hoosier wouldn't make any jing then....

Hopefully the "burn off" period would be significant. We still have 2+ sets of tires left from last year that are still nearly perfect, even with over 10 races on them. While grooving/siping does add prep time to each tire, it also increases the longevity of the tire if done properly.

They will parade this rule around like it's supposed to save racers money, but it won't. It'll end up costing them more, juts like every other rule ever designed to keep costs down.

This rule was put in place because a couple new tracks did not want cutting and sipeing . And this was because a few driver's that did not race with rush were bitching about it. The way I look at it is its a business and I understand attracting new tracks. However taking input from driver's that nave raced a rush race is ridicules. And last time I checked you could cut the 400 why not the 55 at least?

Man!!!!! Just bought a new $300 groover back in August, have 4" sets" of Rush tires grooved and siped ready to race. Guess I could fill them with dirt and make flower pots from them. Now thats saving money right there, I can use a $160 tire instead of a $25. flower pot. If they want to save money they could go to 2500lb weight and spec shocks. This would get rid of the guys running all the exotic light weight crap.

tire rule sounds fair, but it should have been set from the start of the series. JMO. would like to see the rush guys at hummingbird a time or two if thjey can get something worked out. that place needs some variety next season.

Hey but the "crate" engine saved everybody $$$$$$$$$ "Buy this "cheap" engine from your GM dealer..put it in a used car and run it on pump gas. Funny i already had an engine that made more HP, lasted longer and cost me less to build than the price of a untouched 604. Call me crazy?

That was the other thing,Pump gas!!!!! WTF is up with paying more for crate fuel than we pay for the Superlate model fuel. Im starting to rethink this racing shit again.
Camping, drinking beer and riding around the woods on my RZR was probly the right idea!!!! This racing addiction is terrible, I need a 10 step program!!!!
