My boys ran a rage nitro jr cage kart. The parts I needed were always available. We ran mostly at blairsville but also ran Stoneybrook and naugle. My opinion is, the cage carts are safer than a flat kart, we just felt more comfortable as a parent with a cage. Have you been to any local tracks? You will find that most 10 year olds have top equipment and have many laps under them. We had a blast and won a championship and many races in the peewee 5to8 years old class. As we moved up in class we got priced out. I may be getting back into it this year with Logan. He turns 8. Jeff at rage karts will help you. His number is easy to find.

Naugle does not get many champ karts at all. Blairsville usually has a good field of champs. Any class you run will have top notch equipment in it. The biggest thing's to worry about are the chassis set-up and the tires. The tire game is very important with the newer kart's now. Find a good kart from 2004 up and get on a good tire program. Ultramax chassis, and slack karts are two very good choices for either flat,or champ chassis. I have a friend with a 2006 ts max kart built in Aliquippa by Ted Swiontek with 12 nights on it. It is set up for blue plate with ss-11 burris tires, and a mychron 3 tach. The kart is race ready for $ 1,200.00. I know of other karts for sale also from roller to race ready if interested.
