I didn't realize Clate Husted raced into the late 1990's...anyone know when he retired?
I'm guessing '99 or 2000. I don't remember seeing him at all in 2001 or 2002, and I was there almost every week those two years.

1982 was a good one. Lynn went to the rear ,twice. Still almost got it. 2006 was my favorite, Clanton on the high side.
Clanton's win in 2006 was fun to watch, and man, what a crowd they had that night!!! That is still the biggest crowd I've ever seen there. Probably the one that I will remember the most is the year that Sheetz McGarvey led almost the whole race and broke on the last lap giving the win to Jerry Redden.

I was standing near Wearing and Geisler after the race. They were both smiling and laughing. I will never forget overhearing Lynn tell Bob, "I tried to give you room back there." Two great drivers and class acts.
