[Motordrome Speedway]

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE January 4, 2014 MOTORDROME SPEEDWAY OPENS IN 2014 UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP Smithton, PA - Turn 4 Entertainment, Inc. announced today that is has reached a deal to purchase Motordrome Speedway. The deal is effective immediately and the new management team is already working on plans for the 2014 Season. The new team will be led by Todd Melfi, President of Turn 4 Entertainment, Inc. Mr. Melfi has an extensive background in developing, building and operating racetracks. He was responsible for the idea to construct Lake Erie Speedway in North East, PA and was the track’s General Manager for its first 5 years. After leaving Lake Erie Speedway he went on to work with Rusty Wallace as the General Manager for Iowa Speedway in Newton, IA. In addition to his racing background Mr. Melfi has an impressive background in Sports Marketing. He was the General Manager for ISP Sports/IMG at Villanova University and the University of Pittsburgh responsible for managing the multi-media/sponsorship rights for both Athletic Departments. In 2009 he went on to become the Vice President of Sports & Entertainment Sales for The Madison Square Garden Company in New York, NY. Most recently, he was working with the PGA TOUR in Palm Springs, CA prior to forming his own company and finalizing the deal for Motordrome Speedway that brings him back to his native Pittsburgh. Todd will be joined by his wife Melissa, who was also an instrumental part of the development and operation of Lake Erie Speedway and will serve as the Executive Vice President of Motordrome Speedway. The new team not only brings with them extensive knowledge and experience, but a true passion for short track racing and a desire to incorporate many fresh and new ideas, events and improvements that will be welcomed by fans, drivers, sponsors and all who visit Motordrome Speedway. “My wife and I are truly excited about the opportunity to come back home and do what we truly love,” Melfi stated. “Motordrome Speedway has a rich history and we are very excited to have the honor of building on such a tradition and continuing the quest of revitalizing the track and making it one of the best short tracks in the country”. Melfi continued to say “we would like to thank Red Miley for all of his contributions to asphalt racing in Western PA and we are honored to continue his legacy and build on the foundation that he created for Motordrome Speedway. We would also like to thank Ben Miley for continuing to oversee the operations and maintaining the success of the track.” The torch is being passed to Turn 4 Entertainment Inc. from Miley Motorsports Inc. “The entire Miley family wishes Todd and his family well as they take the reins of Western PA asphalt racing and are certain that James “Red” Miley wishes them well and will be watching” stated Miley Motorsports Inc. Sure don't know what world jmmr is living in to think that dirt racing is on it's way out. How many dirt tracks are in Western PA? How many asphalt tracks are in Western PA? Go figure!!!

The place doesn't need a whole lot to be a premier facility. Paint everything, replace some boards, pave the access roads, and bring in some Musco lights. After supporting the place for years it would be nice to see some of our money reinvested in the place.

I have been hearing the "dirt is dead" crap since the '70s. Dirt is very much alive.

yea dirt is very much alive I remember not too long ago all the asphalt tracks in ohio all ran Saturday nights and they wondered why they couldn't get any cars.

Sure don't know what world jmmr is living in to think that dirt racing is on it's way out. How many dirt tracks are in Western PA? How many asphalt tracks are in Western PA? Go figure!!!

I was just kidding man- relax! Do you know how many posts dirt guys did that to me on. But lets be somewhat realistic too. I've been to plenty if dirt races at 4 different tracks in the area (less than say 70 miles from Pgh) where the cars count and fan count was overall less than impressive and lots of dirt tracks close all the time.
