FASTRAK PRO LATE MODELS INK 5-RACE DEAL, PART OF HISTORIC 2014 RE-OPENING OF ALLEGHENY MOTOR SPEEDWAY( FORMERLY TRI-CITY SPEEDWAY) IN FRANKLIN,PA. January 28, 2014 * FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE * (Morgantown, WV) – The rumor mills can be put to rest---the racing message board “dust” have settled. And after weeks and weeks of speculation, something very positive in the world of dirt track racing has emerged; Allegheny Motor Speedway (formerly Tri-City Speedway) in Franklin, Pa. will re-open in May of the 2014 racing season and has scheduled 5 high-profile, very generous payouts for competitors in four racing divisions. “To be a part of this historical re-opening at Allegheny Motor Speedway is very special to me”, said Jimmy Henry, FASTRAK Pro Late Model Northeast Tour director. “Mike Thomas of The Thomas Organization is a savvy businessman and thrives on thinking outside of the box, so to speak. He brings to the table a very different approach to racing events and has a very clear, innovative vision of what he wants Allegheny Motor Speedway to become. In the 21st century, there are a lot of things competing for racing fans’ entertainment dollar and Mr.Thomas is very aware of that. So not only is Mike planning excellent paying, exciting racing but I would call it a “total package” of entertainment,” continued Henry. Billed as the “Sizzlin’ Summer Series”, the 5 race dates on tap are scheduled for : May 18, June 15, July 6, August 24 and Sept. 21, all Sunday nights. Purses nearing $20,000 per event for FASTRAK competitors is sure to draw strong fields of top-running racers of the elite Pro Late Model Series in the country. Talk is cheap and Mr.Thomas is aware of that. “We wanted this reopening to be a big deal and Mr.Thomas has really stepped up to the plate. He has a vision of growing Allegheny Motor Speedway to be the premier dirt racing facility within 400 miles of Franklin,Pa. and he has really put his money where his mouth is. To prove this, racers can have a sneak-peak of the FASTRAK Northeast Tour payout at the 5-race “Sizzlin’ Summer Series”, Henry said. Payouts for each of the 30-lap main events for the FASTRAK Pro Late Models will be: 1. $3,000 2. $1,500 3. $1,000 4. $900 5. $800 6. $700 7. $600 8.– 10. $500 11.–20. $400. 21–24. $300 *$150 Tow Money for Non-Qualifiers. the sprint purse is 26,000, fastrak is 20,000, guessing the big blocks are about 20,000, and then add in stocks about 8-10 grand, and you need about 74,000 dollars in fan and racer support.......wow. he is putting his neck out there.......plus the start up cost of getting the track ready.......this guy must be loaded....hope it all works out.

we are going to run most fastrak events, so yes we will 'tow' over there. thanks for helping out on our decision......

So instead of hoping why don't you tow over there and help out ?

I'll be contributing to at least a couple of these races. I've never been there but I'd like to check it out.
