Were there any stipulations in the contract between the tour and WRG that weren't met by the tour? Or are they just flat out not paying what is owed?We received word today from Gary Risch that they will not be running a BRP Modified Show this year because of issues between The Tour and his employer World Racing Group and DIRT CAR. Also they are upset that we sent a letter asking why we haven't received our Hoosier Tire money. Also why they decided not to honor the contract they agreed to for the 2013 racing season and said nothing till after the 2013 season was over. This money was pledged to our top 20 in points. Enough said for now, but I will be posting a letter addressing these issues after our next meeting on February 12 2014. If you have any questions feel free to contact me and I will respond the best I can, but at least I WILL RESPOND. Thank You Tim Engles Modified Tour President.

[/quote yes, they sent us a letter dated April 24th 2013 addressing some of their concern that they wanted us to consider for the 2013 ( the last year of a three year contract ) season. We already ran under the first two years of the contract and now as we started our 2013 Season they wanted changes. Some involved sponsor changes on fuel,( We have been with Sunoco Fuel since the beginning and have an ongoing commitment with them ) DIRTcar membership mandatory, follow their complete rule book. After receiving the letter I called Joe Skotnicki and we discussed all the things covered on the letter. I explained that we wanted to work with them but we could not make some of the changes at this time and He stated that all things will be corrected in 2014 or they won't support entertaining another contract. I told him I understood, But we ended the conversation with the understanding that we would finish out the final year of the present contract, the board would follow the rule book as printed. We were told to use the new weight rules, and to uphold their penalties that were placed on Kevin Bolland. The tours biggest issue now is to get the Hoosier tire money that is due to us, and that was entrusted to them to distribute to the racetracks and organizations like us. The contract was for $10,000.00 ( Including the tire money ) that's about 40% of our 2013 budget and being a volunteer/ non profit organization that a hit to all board members trying to make good on our commitments. I don't want to play this out on this message board but I said I would respond to questions. I believe this should answer yours and most questions and help explain ours. I do want to tell everyone that this is me speaking for myself since I feel I was the one misled, and serve as the board's go between.

Leave it to the WRG to screw somebody over. As for the money they probably don't have it to pay out. It's a shame how bad they have ruined Lernerville.
Completely agree

He doesn't care about local racing. Just wants his full time partying gig he has goin on....This is a very unfortunate situation... One of the top tracks in the nation. I would hope Mr Risch would stand for a local organization and local racers as they are his bread and butter, however I do know from historical interaction with him, he does like things his way...
Nevertheless, I hope all drivers understand and support decisions the tour is now forced to face... And the root cause of the challenge at hand.
Wishing you well BRP tour board and take confidence in the fact the product you produce has provided years of entertainment, top notch competition, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in racers pockets in years past... And hopefully in years to come.

He doesn't own the place, he has a boss. The boss says the tour needs to conform, and if not they aren't on the schedule. You do it or they find someone else who does. It even says that in the first post, as issue between the tour and his empolyer.
So that means they shouldnt pay for work already completed? As in last year? Hopefully the tour will survive without wrg, its only one track in this area.

I would follow bacon bits lead here. There is always two sides to the story. Not saying WRG is not wrong but at same time Gary is employed. I do stuff at work every day I dont agree with. But I have to do it to stay employed. There's more to this story than meets the eye. I wouldn't pass judgement until both sides have made their statements.

Yes you are right. there are two sides to every story, But all I did was stated facts. I'm not into telling stories. This has only become a public issue because they have not released our Hoosier Tire money. When that check arrives I will be done on my quest.I would follow bacon bits lead here. There is always two sides to the story. Not saying WRG is not wrong but at same time Gary is employed. I do stuff at work every day I dont agree with. But I have to do it to stay employed.
