No it's not. The ULMS has been a part of those events for years.

First off it's not the ULMS anymore. Secondly you do realize guys that are running for series points have to go and race for only show up points.

ULMS is NDRL NE. Second, nobody is "forcing" the guys to show up or follow the series. Third, even if just show-up points are rewarded the events will give the drivers valuable seat time on 2 tracks that have multiple regular points nights. Last, the NDRL KoD races pay very well and most of the drivers should be there anyway even if there weren't show-up points.

I know last year at the Pittsburgher they had a provisional for the top point guy for ULMS that didn't make the field. I would think they will again. That is a huge boost in money and experience for the regional racers. They are giving a regional driver to shine on the national stage. Maybe that shiny black #69 will start living up to his name at PPMS! Definitely not a dick move!

From your comments I can tell you don't foot the bill on a car.

I'm glad that they finally put a schedule out but I feel that the show up point races are wrong. Without those races there is only about 14 shows which is a really nice size for a regional series.

If I did own a car I wouldn't choose to follow a series then bitch and moan because I don't want to travel. The elite local and regional drivers want to run against the best so they'll be at the co-sanctioned events regardless. The only ones complaining will be the ones who know they're not competitive and maybe they shouldn't be following a series.

The more shows that cars are required to be at the less full time guys the tour will have. BFP92 is right guys don't have unlimited supplies of money to follow tours.

That's fine if he thinks there are too many shows on the schedule, I was only arguing his opinion that the show up points are BS. IMO if you are supporting the NDRL NE series then you should feel obligated to support John's national NDRL shows in the area as well. I can see his point about the overall number of races though.

Those TBAs are look like they belong to Roaring Knob. I don't like the fact that the Co-Sanctioned races are show up points only. The last 3 races on the series are just show-up points. What is point of that? Those 7 extra races could eat a lot of a smaller racing teams budget up. And to say smaller teams shouldn't race the series if they are not going to the big races, maybe a team wants to travel a little bit and race some shows away from home to get experience. Is the NDRL NE going to have thew same tire rule as the NDRL KoD series? Besides the two three-day race weekends, it is not that bad of a schedule, they double some races up to cut travel expenses.

Regional driver a chance to shine, but takes the chances from a local guy trying to shine in a regional touring series when they can't afford to go to the "show up points" co-sanctioned events and fall in the points.
