Who, under age 70, relies on KDKA for weather? This post has been up for two hours. It has been viewed over 100 times, and no one has said whether they will support this or not.
Hey Big E, this message is for you, and The Miley's, and Fastrack PR, And Rush, And Brad Hibbard And Fozzy, and so no.
Every one who reads this should help support racing and say something to KDKA.
This is for every racer, fan and support guy/gal. And even the pavement guys! LOL
Who is on board?

Scruffy, I'm counting on you too. You have an opinion on this board. Let them know.Who, under age 70, relies on KDKA for weather?
I emailed them again to keep them on their toes.
I chose KDKA because the have the mobile weather center. I was hoping they could park it right in the center of the track and give the weather for the firecracker or some other event. Just trying to use technology.

KDKA probably reaches a million people. Lernerville gets less than a quarter of one percent of those people weekly. Those are the folks I was referring to.Probably just a few hundred thousands people....

I can see what you're saying. If people happen to be sitting at home watching the weather, and see the mobile weather center is at Lernerville, they might look around and decide to head to the track instead of thumbing their cornhole all night. That makes more sense than trying to give people a source for weather information, which I assume most people already have. Good on you for putting in the time and effort, Harvester.Scruffy, I'm counting on you too. You have an opinion on this board. Let them know.

I think the point was to get exposure to those that don't go to the races as well as the ones who do.KDKA probably reaches a million people. Lernerville gets less than a quarter of one percent of those people weekly. Those are the folks I was referring to.

Exactly. Just didn't make it a point.I think the point was to get exposure to those that don't go to the races as well as the ones who do.
Has any body even tried yet? It's not going to happen unless we harass the hell out of them. Like a freakin bill collector.
Send them an email.
I think we can get them to do it!

or maybe its because no one was seriously injured or died last week..thats the only time they give a crap.Just watched the noon news. Didn't hear a thing about the racers. Wonder why?
Maybe because no one has taken the time to email KDKA to let them know we want a racers forecast.
It doesn't take much effort.

Unfortunately true. Money rules the world.Unfortunately I think this is not a case of KDKA ignoring the racing community but a case of who's putting money in who's pockets. I'm sure there's advertising packages that can be purchased from the local stations that would get them to mention the racing events during the weather reports... as well as bring the mobile weather unit to the track. Everything revolves around money and who's giving it to who to do what.
my $.02
It's a novel idea and as a race fan it would be nice to see more local exposure to local racing. Unfortunately I don't see it happening.
