Anyone have any information on how he is doing? That was one scary head-on hit into the fourth turn wall, in mid-air. He looked a little shaky being escorted to the ambuance.

Did anyone see exactly what happened? I know there was contact with another car, and I will reserve any judgment, because I didn't see the very beginning of the wreck.

Russ King did a modified slide job and his rear quarter panel got into Eck, sending him head on into the wall.

King must be running those new case harded rocket panels... Basic physics tells us the body panel would crush before "sending Eck" anywhere.. I call bullshit on this story. I bet Kings spitter called signaled that move to....

talked to Doug as they were working to try to load the car.  Other than being sore, he was complaining that he bit his tongue.  The 56 car's right rear quarter was torn up pretty bad, so you can make your own assessment.  Eck didn't turn into the wall on purpose.  He was on the receiving end of a bad slide job.

It's Doug Wreck. That guy can't get on the track without tearing up his or someone else's equipment.

Yeah, he's had his issues. But that was one hard shot. Besides, Russell King has done his share of tearing up equipment....his own and others.

If you call racing hard hitting everything on the track then you are absolutely right!

Thought Davies throttle stuck? Saw the video last year and it didn't look like Eck's fault on that one.

It wasn't Eck's fault. Davies' throttle did stick. That Eck happened to be right there lead to speculation because of his reputation. The sad part about the whole thing was that it probably will be the last memory we have of Ron as a racer.

My main reason for starting the thread was to inquire about Doug's well being after the wreck. Whether you like him or not, if you saw the accident, it was scary and I am relieved he seems to be okay. Another couple of feet or so higher in the air, and he may very well have gone right through the fence.

What I saw was King try a pathetic slidejob and miss it. Ecks car went right head on into the wall. Thank God he wasn't 2 feet higher, Elseward it could've been worse. Thank God he's OK, that was a scary crash.

I don't think I ever said I wished he got hurt did I?? It just doesn't surprise me because he is a disaster on the track and guys drive him like he drives them.

No, but what you're saying is, since he is a disaster on the track, other drivers should be able to crash him into the wall.  Eck rubs a lot of fenders, but I've never seen him cause an accident like that last night.  As another poster indicted, if any of you morons that want to make light of this because the wrecked driver was Doug Eck, you'd be singing a different tune if you witnessed this awful crash.

I didnt see how this accident started, but it had to be the scariest I have ever seen.

If this would have happened to say, Pegher-Ferree or say Garvin, King would have been treated very differently by Lernerville!

He at least should have been black flagged for the heat race.  I thought they were clamping down on rough driving at Lernerville this year.

Wow Flash. I am sure King said to himself "on this next corner I am going to kit Eck so he goes head on into the wall". I simply said he has wrecked and ran a lot of guys very dirty so no one is going to give him any room. I am not defending King either. I forgot on race stud if you have a different opinion then you are wrong.
