Dollars are buying horsepower and good parts (dependability) but setup is what's getting it done. Small motor guys are running up front in the biggest of big specials for this class. Most of the specials are on dry slick tracks anyway. Everyone hates the guy that's winning every week, but as nut said, quit whining and get to work. Go beat him.

Please elaborate. I've heard a million people make this claim about every consistent winning car. Let me guess, he's got a 900hp 434, traction control, and late model 4 bar setup? I'm no tech guy, but I haven't noticed anything exotic on that car.

It is not all motor! I have raced at Marion Center and WON with a 383 built on a back porch in Bellwood Pa...... You just need to figure out how to get your car to handle better.. A good handling car will beat a big motor car trust me I have done it many times!!! I am not defending this Smith at all

That's just stupid. At least limited them to 23 degree and stud mounted rockers

There are multiple cars running those heads. Stupid, but not illegal. 3 link is legal there and he's won on 4 link just as easily Guys in this area have some work to do on setup is all. I don't think he would have done anything special at ppms this week, but nothing says he has to.

3 link is not legal at marion center and in case no one knows that is a house car for pro1 so what does he really pay for. i was in the infield last year when they actually teched the street stocks for the 1st and only time they did and he won they found different length trailing arms and just told him he had to change them (did he who really knows they never teched again last year) Now they teched again sat after the first ss feature (did they find the same thing told him to change it for the next race and thats y he spun when leading and then pull off the track only they know) just a thought

I've seen the suspension under Nates car.. As far as measuring anything.. I didn't do that.. I can 100% tell you.. It is not a three link car.. Luke Barnetts car.. Is identical (minus the transmission) nobody is in here ranting about it.. Spike Moore won the second feature. It's a Pro 1 as well.. He dominated his local track last year.. They've got something figured out for sure..

I've seen some pretty basic street stock rear suspensions defy the laws of physics and work way better than they should. Most likely due to the other setup parameters and the nut behind the wheel.

Not arguing, but curious what was meant by "narrowed frame". I've seen a lot of big chassis (impala/caprice) work really well and they are wider. What would be gained by narrowing whether it's done or not on his car?

I have a 74 Malibu.. It works well.. Everyone wanted them for the front geometry... I don't know much about narrowing the back.. I'm just guessing to give it more of a late model style stance.. (Wider front than back) which I would say helps with sidebite.. I'm guessing here... Anyone with more knowledge can chime in anytime LOL
