Does anyone know the current rules about going on the track during cautions/red flags? I thought it was pretty clear cut that only track officials & track workers were allowed on the track.

I want to know why two weeks in a row a particular person was allowed out on the track?  As a crew member for a race team I know better. Even if our driver is involved in a serious crash, we know to stay off the track.

I guess it's all in who you are & who you know. I can bet if any of out crew went out, we would be told to leave immediately & either fined or penalized in another way.

Oh and PPMS, thanks for deleting my post on Facebook! Just shows that you are guilty and have no answer to why you allow it to happen.

one thing I wish happened was that the offical on the front stretch or whoever is on race ceiver would let any driver know who had a flat that his tire was flat so he would have time to get into the pits and back on the track without losing laps. it is pretty crappy when you stop and ask, told your tire is flat then they shut the lights out and go to green thus trapping you laps down.

maybe need someone on raceceiver who is observant and can spot these things. I am sure the drivers would appreciate being told you have flat before the race is about to go green!

I was not referring to the 3/4 flip. I'm sure the track crew asked for help. I'm talking about one person walking out to their car once under caution they were involved in & the second time under the red for the light post.

One thing, PPMS does not have a two lap courtesy rule for flat tires. As far as the guy on the raceceivers goes, when you 20-30 cars out there you may not be looking every car over on the pace laps, like Saturday night with the crates or the sportsman feature. Also your more likely to see right side tires, from the scorers booth, not lefts. Just like you can't see the right side tires going down from the pits.  You may not notice if the car is inside of another car or close to the wall either. And when under the yellow, the person on the raceceivers job is lining up cars and may not be looking at tires.
