#1 Cochran Fan Appreciation Night will light up the sky this Friday, June 13

Sarver, PA (June 11, 2014) Every year Rob Cochran and the fine folks from #1 Cochran Automotive sponsor our Holiday Races with Fireworks and this year is no different.  Always one of the biggest Fast Fridays of Fab Four Racing of the season, the fireworks always bring in one of the biggest crowds of the season and #1 Cochran Fan Appreciation Night also features a parade of cars.

With just two short weeks until the highly anticipated 8th Annual Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com, the Precise Racing Products DIRTcar Late Models will take center stage Friday Night as has been tradition on #1 Cochran Fan Appreciation Night due to their 30+ year relationship with Lynn Geisler who now has Mike Pegher Jr. behind the wheel.  Pegher won the Precise Late Model feature three weeks ago and would love nothing more than to roll the iconic #1 Cochran Late Model into Sheetz Victory Lane with the sponsor watching on from the press box.

Alex Ferree and Russ King are in a heated battle for the Budweiser Points lead and each driver has scored two feature wins this season.  Ferree leads King by just two points with six weeks in the books and with an all important Firecracker 100 provisional on the line for the Budweiser Points leader after next Friday’s Mid-Season Championship, every point is critical!  The Mid-Season Champion feature winner will also secure a Lernerville Speedway provisional for Saturday Night’s $30,000-to-win Firecracker 100 A-Main.

Believe it or not, the Bud Points battle between Ferree and King is not the closest battle.  Rex King Sr. leads his son Rex King Jr. by a single point in the Diehl Auto Group DIRTcar Northeast Big Block Modifieds, while Jim Fosnaught maintains a one-point lead over Corey McPherson and seven-point lead over third place Rob Shook in the Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar Sportsman division.

Of the four divisions, only Carl Bowser in the Peoples TWP DIRTcar Sprints enjoys a comfortable lead at this juncture.  Coming off his second win of the season last Friday, Bowser leads Jack Sodeman Jr. 31 points and Brandon Matus by 34 points.

As mentioned above, next Friday, June 20 is Mid-Season Championship Night presented by McCutcheon Enterprises, Inc. and JDRF Benefit Night.  In addition to the Firecracker provisional that is on the line for the Precise Late Models, the Peoples TWP Sprints will be racing for a Silver Cup provisional, the Diehl Mods will be racing for a Steel City Stampede provisional and the Pic-A-Part Sportsman/Stocks will be racing for a Sportsman/Stock Spectacular provisional.

This weekend is also Father’s Day and there’s no better gift than a $69 3-Day Firecracker 100 reserved ticket package.  In addition to a reserved seat for all three nights, the $69 package includes a free fan pit pass upgrade for Thursday & Friday Night and priority access to Saturday afternoon’s Firecracker 100 Driver Autograph Session.  Tickets can be purchased 24/7 on our website www.Lernerville.com by clicking the “Buy Tickets” icon or calling the speedway office during normal business hours at (724) 353-1511.

Hate much Sparkler?

Kudos to Dan, Chad and Gary for pulling this together.  As much water and mud as there was around the facility, it's pretty amazing they got this show in.  Can't wait for the Firecracker!

LIKE THAT MATTERS

Any idiot would understand that they were going to do everything possible to get the show in because it was fireworks night, therefore management knew they would get a good crowd no matter what. Smart business decision as far as I'm concerned. Great racing and pyrotechnics display, for not a penny more than regular admission. Just what in the hell do you want?
