Dave Hess Jr. returns to the Action Track to steal Firecracker 100 Provisional

Double Duty Dave Murdick repeats in Diehl Mods

Brandon Matus parks it and climbs the fence

Corey McPherson dominant in third win

Sarver, PA (June 20, 2014)  Dave Hess Jr. made a difficult, but family related decision last summer to cut back on his racing schedule.  He returned in full force tonight, however, to secure a track provisional for next weekend’s 8th Annual Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com.  Prior to that, Dave Murdick won the Diehl Mods feature feature for the second week in a row to secure a Steel City Stampede provisional in October’s season ending event.  Fan favorite Brandon Matus picked up his first feature win of the season in the Peoples TWP Sprints and secured a starting spot in next month’s Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup Twin 30s presented by GottaRace.com.  He celebrated, of course, by climbing the fence after parking it in Sheetz Victory Lane.  Corey McPherson capped the night off with a dominant feature win in the otherwise competitive Pic-A-Part Sportsman division to score his third checkered flag of the season and cement his starting position in the Sportsman/Stock Spectacular portion of Autumn-Motive Fest 2014 in September.  Up next, the weekend you’ve all been waiting for . . . the 8th Annual Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com!  $69 Advance 3-Day reserved ticket packages are on sale through Wednesday Night at 11:59PM and include Fan Appreciation Pit Pass upgrades for Thursday & Friday Night’s programs.  Log on to www.Lernerville.com to learn more and buy your tickets 24/7!  Don’t delay, do it today!

Fast, evil race track provided great racing. Plenty of LM carnage, mostly due to too many people trying to win a 25 lap feature in one lap. Dave Hess, Jr. was rewarded for being patiently fast. Mikey Norris went over hard in turn three. Poor 'ole Scotty Priester finally got to running good, but likely trashed his Sprinter in a brutal turn one flip. The only division that didn't have a flip were the Big Blocks, although Swartzlander tried like hell.

The Big Block Mod and Late Model features were among the best of the year last night.

Lernerville the way it should be and used to be.
A fast groove around the bottom and a curb to lean on at the top. It was a little rough last night but I think the track caught a lot of people off guard, guys get in a rhythm of setting up for the slick, seen quite a few tights cars struggling against the cushion. Best the tracks been all year in my opinion though.

sounds like the cushion is back in 3 and 4, it used to be pretty high. i can remember it being knee deep. all we need now is john flinner.

The track was the best it has been by far all season. The result was great racing.
