I don't understand how these guys dedicate all week every week to racing when even at the firecracker you have to run second to turn a profit of any type

There are people out there who enjoy the sport as much as you or I who have the finances to help finance their "hero's".  Those w/ personal wealth.

Some are lucky enough to have been able to snatch a high dollar sponser.

These high dollar business sponsers also have to have a huge love for DLM racing in order for them to justify sinking large chunks of change into Dirt Racing.

How many times have you seen a business who has no interest at all in racing have it's name plastered on the side of a race car ?

If you do it is usually short lived.  The "non" racing junkie is usually convinced by some " SilverTongue" salesman that by plastering your business on the side of my race car your business will increase 10X.

Not true in Big Time racing such as NASCAR were you reach millions,

Yep, just give me the money and my race car running around these dusty dirty  race tracks will reap all kinds of benefits for your company.

On the local seen it is the little guy who manages to get $150 bucks to put your name on a quarter panel buy the guy that hits the local tracks a couple a times a week.

There are exceptions to the rule.  Lynn Geisler and and his big time sponser who has been with him for years.  It must work for them.

Then there are racers who have been successful in their own business ventures that enable them to sink money from their business into their program.

Case in point ... The Conley's and their huge trucking company financing now 4 DLM"s since the Grand Son came on board.

Another example ... Gregg Satterlee and Satterlee Petroleum Distributers.   Since the infusion of the big gas boom in the tri-state area, Satterlee Petroleum Distributers has grown buy leaps and bounds.

Since the last couple of years or so this has enabled them to step up their program and do the kind of racing that they are capable of.

The "Legend" himself a business owner and I am curious as to what degree your business has benifited from having your business name on the side of your race cars.

Just wondering .... Care to let us in ??

Chub Frank had a pretty big sponser in Morton Steel Bldg's which did not last any

time at all.  He does have a couple of "Quarter Panel" sponsers that have been with him for quite a while.

Everything in this post IMHO and there are things that might not seem correct to you and I welcome any and all responses.

Ring Gear I know where the people you mentioned get their funding it's just hard to believe that there's THAT many people out there with that much money they are WILLING to spend on such a fruitless endeavor. I see this as an extremely part time hobby. With that being the case I'm not willing to spend more than a small percentage of my income on it. I know there's a lot of guys spending everything they have on it and that's insane to me. I can say for sure I have sold zero projects as a result of my business name on the car. There is zero tax advantage to sponsoring a race car. Yes it's deductible but so is buying equipment or advertising that actually works. If I gave a guy a 100k for his race car yes I don't have to pay taxes on that 100k but it's not brining me in anything lol .. Where if I buy a 100k worth of shop equipment it increases my capacity and makes me more money plus that tooling is now mine. Either there's a ton of dudes netting 8 figures who love back woods racing which is incredibly hard to believe or guys netting high 6's and blowing ALL of their money on racing. Maybe if I was born with a silver schmed up my 2 and didnt have to start from nothing I would see things differently
