Dan was standing at the pit entrance during the crate feature watching his nephew Nico race and was hit from behind during the Charlier accident. His leg is in very bad shape is going to need multiple surgeries to hopefully repair or worst case a possible amputation. So Please say your prayers and please leave any positive feedback or support . Thank you. Will be needed to keep his morale up.

That was a horrific accident.... In was in the stands watching and it looked like
Someone trying to win a race on the first lap ... That car pinballed off 3 or 4 cars on the back straight and in pretty sure headed straight at that guardrail he will thought he was going to win the race. That's a shame for the Greek after everything he's already been through ... Hopefully he's ok !!

I been involved in many forms of motorsports, for a long time, and have seen some really bad stuff happen.

Every time someone gets injured bad, everything I have ever seen happen comes back to me.

Seeing Dan down, being worked on by the medics brought back alot of tough memories I will never be able to forget.

 

Dan is a good dude.

 

My best wishes go out to Dan, the 1F Race Team, and the Karalagas family.

 

Hopefully everything works to the best case scenario, and he has a full, speedy recovery from his injuries.

Really hard to see anyone go down, especially someone like Dan.  Hope ya get healed up and back out there, knowing you youll be out there as soon as ya can!

Thoughts and prayers are being sent your way. I just talked to Dan on Thursday night and it was good to see him getting around after all that he's been through the last few years. I'm sure this will just be another bump in the road and that he'll come way stronger. God bless my friend.

I visited with Dan last night after his surgery...He looks good and is in good spirits. The leg was repaired and is a wait and see thing. Tough guy that wants to go to Lernerville friday for the races..Get well soon buddy...

Update on the Greek.....I was fortunate to have today off, so decided to treck into Pgh and visit Dan. I was extremely glad to see him sitting in a chair, leg heavily rapped and his yellow toes sticking out of the bandages. He said they have to keep a very close eye on the blood circulation in his leg. Dan thanks everyone for their thoughts and prayers. He is in good spirits, and said he could be going home possibly by the middle of next week. Dan said he wasn't looking forward to spending more time on his hoveround. Nico came I while I was there and was also in pretty good spirits. I was very humbled by Danny's outlook...." This is just another bump in the road and I'll get through it ".
