I believe the spirit of negativity especially amongst social media has the potential to destroy the sport. Truthfully I am grateful I can still race at a local track. I'm also grateful that promoters are willing to put up with all the negativity and accusations. Just my thoughts and I am venting. I for one love the sport of racing.

I think you are right about social media having the potential to hurt the sport. I also believe it can be just as positive- for reaching new and existing fans as an advertising/marketing tool. It can Also be positive as it can be one of the few ways a driver/team can impact the promoters to get their voice heard. Don't think they don't read this stuff. It's just like any other business in that they can't afford negative comment- it may be a tool for change. Yes it can be a detriment when unwarranted but in my opinion the good outweighs the bad.

Anyone who thinks low car and fan counts are due to social media should slam their schming in a steel door repeatedly

It isn't the whole problem, but I think it does impact many tracks.

I would tend to agree, but then again...
