Red Farmer finished 12th. Not bad for an old guy who says he was born between 1928 and 1932. He wasn't sure the exact year.
If he was born in 1928, that would make him 86. If it was 1932 that would make him 82. Any way you look at it, it still is quite a feat that this man continues to race.
Red broke a collar bone and ribs in a 'copter crash that took the life of the pilot and good friend Davey Allison. He was landing at Talledega International Speedway to watch a practice session with Neil Bonnets son.
Neil lost his life I believe in a practice session somewhere.
