After quite a few weeks of sunny weather, Mother Nature "reared her ugly head" this past weekend as steady rain forced the cancellation of many FASTRAK Northeast weekly events. The Dog Hollow Speedway (Strongstown, PA) and the Eriez Speedway (Erie, PA) were the only two facilities that were able to get their events. The I-77 Raceway (Ripley, WV) and Elkins Raceway (Elkins, WV) fell victim to the rain on Friday evening. Saturday's casualties included the Marion Center Speedway (Marion Center, PA). Tyler County Speedway (Middlebourne, WV) and Skyline Speedway (Stewart, OH).
Andrew Satterlee led the FASTRAK Pro-Late Model feature event to the green flag at Dog Hollow Speedway on Friday night. He then led the first six circuits before "Virginia Invader" Rick Singleton claimed the top spot on lap seven. Singleton went on to score his first victory of the season at the Indiana County, PA oval over last week's winner, Joe Martin, Satterlee, Michael Lake and Shane Weaver.
Former FASTRAK National and Northeast Champion Max Blair scored his fourth FASTRAK Northeast victory at the Eriez Speedway on Sunday night. Matt Latta and veteran Bruce Hordusky led the field to the green with Latta leading lap one. The caution waved on lap four when defending divisional champion Chad Wright, who was running second, lost power. Latta, who was the leader at the time, suffered a mechanical failure and stalled while the field was under caution. Hordusky inherited the lead on the restart with Michael Mitchell and Mike Knight behind him. By lap nine Max Blair had worked his way to the second position and began pressuring Hordusky for the lead. Blair was able to get by Hordusky on lap 14 and went on to claim the win. Mitchell, Hordusky, Kyle Zimmerman and veteran Scott Gurdak rounded out the top five.
The FASTRAK Northeast Tour returns to action Sunday evening July 27th at the Eriez Speedway. The 35 lap main event, will pay $1,200.00 to win. Robbie Scott claimed the Series' opener at the Tyler County Speedway on April 18th and is also the current point's leader. Other Tour drivers expected to be in action Sunday night include Kyle Thomas, Joel Prosser and Danny Thomas. Eriez regulars such as Max Blair, defending divisional champion Chad Wright, Matt Latta, Bobby Rohrer, Jr. and Kyle Zimmerman are poised to "defend their home turf" and challenge for the victory.

This Friday's FASTRAK Northeast weekly action includes Midway Speedway (Crooksville, OH) and the Dog Hollow Speedway (Strongstown, PA). The Elkins Raceway's (Elkins, WV) racing action will move to Saturday this weekend as FASTRAK Pro-Late Models will battle for a top prize of $2,000.00.
FASTRAK Northeast teams and fans in southern Ohio are reminded that the Skyline Speedway in Stewart, OH will once again feature the Pro-Late Model competitors battling for $800.00 to win. Tyler County Speedway (Middlebourne, WV) returns to action after a two week hiatus with the running of the 26th Annual Earl Hill Memorial. The unsanctioned Super Late Model event will pay $10,000.00 to win. The Peoples Bank FASTRAK Pro-Late Models will also be in action along with the Mini-Wedges, Modifieds, Hot Mods, Mod Lites and the Four Cylinders.
FASTRAK Northeast teams and fans in Western and Central PA are encouraged to stop by the Marion Center Speedway (Marion Center, PA) on Saturday evening to enjoy the racing action as well as the Kids Bike Races.
FASTRAK Northeast teams are reminded that in order to receive FASTRAK weekly points you must be racing on FASTRAK approved Hoosier tire compounds. FASTRAK Northeast weekly points are being reviewed and revised accordingly.
