Super Late Models - Doug Glessner wins feature. Billy Eash finished 2nd and Sammy Stile finished 3rd.

Pretty good late model racing. There was a quick shower and they got the show back going pretty quickly. Hats off to them for getting it in and giving people that were there the opportunity to see the features.

The track crew did an excellent job.  You couldn't have asked for a better surface than we had for the late model feature.

I wouldn't give them too much credit. It was the first time this season that the track was HALF decent and that's only because it rained on the track. They must be afraid to use any water or something on any other week ? Bathrooms and lights still suck!!

The bathrooms and lights have sucked for fifty years! I have not been there yet this year, but one thing that seems to have changed is the track prep, based on what I'm reading here. It was spotty last year as well.  I heard complaints about how hard it was on tires. A great racing surface is what kept many of the competitors and fans coming back because it was conducive to good racing. Take that away, and the others problems get magnified, i.e., bad payout, poor restrooms, long, drawn out show, etc.

The few times I have been there this season it has been junk. The track was slick after 3 heat races. The feature ends up being one groove and if you don't make a move early you are just riding it out. Yeah, you can say were bitching but this is something the track can control. Sometimes drawing cars and fans ends up being out of their hands but if it is due to a crappy surface then it is your fault. To me it looked like all the clay is gone but that doesn't mean you shouldn't attempt to throw some extra water on it. Before, you could go there and spend 10 minutes scraping and kicking mud/clay off your car after a heat race.

maybe that's how we like it its easy on stuff and it seperates the good cars from the bad ones anybody can go when its heavy don't blame the track surface on a ill handeling racecar stay in the garage and out of the bar and make your car better!!!!!

The place definately needs to be reclayed, we race there occasionaly and if you cant see that you must not hit many other tracks, not much passing done feature time, sure its a challenge but a challenge that comes with a price, 4 new tires at the end of the nite, I really like the place but would like to see a hammerdown surface

Doug is just trying to explain why he likes racing there and it seems like you are the guy who is always running the place down.  If you don't believe that it is easy on tires stop over and look at ours after the feature sometime.  You pit less than 50 feet away from us every week and have even pitted right beside us a time or two.

Thats exactly correct!  But if you like ice rink racing....thats the place for you to go!  I also think if you won three features there this season.. You would love the place as well!  Good Luck to everyone racing there!

What I don't get, is there are countless posts whining that 3 tracks in the same area run on the same night...... Instead of whining that your track has sucked all year, go to one of the others.

I to don't understand why people are bashing the track. Now yes I agree the track could use some updates. But I am just happy they are still running. Its a small town track that brings people together on a Saturday night and to me that's what its all about. Support is the key to keeping tracks open. The racing has been pretty good this year. And the payout is decent. I will see you all Saturday.
