SHARON MODIFIES "358" SMALL-BLOCK RULE TO 2500 LBS IN DIRTCAR BIG-BLOCK MODIFIED CLASS

By Mike Leone

August 12, 2014                     FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Hartford, OH)…Effectively immediately, Sharon Speedway has modified its "358" small-block weight rule from 2650 lbs to 2500 lbs for the DIRTcar Big-Block Modified division.  Note: engine cannot pump over 363 c.i.  While this is not a change by DIRTcar to their Big-Block Modified rules, DIRTcar has approved this change for Sharon Speedway.  The Hovis Auto & Truck Supply DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds will return to action this Saturday night (August 16) for $5 Fan Appreciation Night.  Racing begins at 7 p.m.

Sharon Speedway is owned by the Blaney, Weller, and Kirila Families and is a 3/8-mile dirt track located on Custer-Orangeville Road in Hartford, Ohio near the intersection of Routes 7 & 305. Not sure what they did to the racing surface this week but they need to keep doing it. Excellant racing. Best I have seen at Sharon in a while.
