Definitely agree the prices are a little much. They are in line with Roaring Knob though. I am sure they took that into consideration but you get to at least see two features on Friday down there (Late Models and Chargers I believe). Does not look that appealing to other classes. Increased tow money only for the Super Lates. Everyone else seems to get shafted if they don't perform well. Given that economic region, the other events to choose from, and the pricing I doubt they come out ahead in this race. Poor placement of this race and all other big races that weekend. Use your heads! Best of luck though.

100 for a 3 day pass .... 89 for a eldora 3 day pass with racing all 3 days and a purse of 286k .... There's your answer .... But you can thank the " racers racers " for showing the way to sky high admission

The tracks that fall under the "not eldora" category feel a need to charge sky high pit fees because the pits are the only guaranteed money at these late season higher purse shows. If it's 40 degrees and there's football on, the front gate just isn't gonna be there. Go to little guys, or even the chiller thriller at the beginning of the year. Pits packed and great shows but each person could have their own row in the stands.

The front gate would absolutely be there if there was a better than 50/50 shot of being a decently run show.  These back gate tracks just have no draw to outsiders for a "big" end of the year show.  Who is gonna travel a few hours to check out a race at Dog Hollow?

Right. Legend compares everything to Eldora. Fact is, Eldora is built to host big, high paying shows. Great, wonderful. The over whelming majority of weekly dirt tracks are not, so where Eldora might seat 30K, DHS might seat 3,500. They have to make the money by charging silly front and back gate prices. prices I'm not willing to pay because I'm going to see one class of cars, not the five back gate classes.

Skull eldora sells a product fans want to buy. Local promoters don't have to do it on the same level but they still need a product people want to buy at a price they are willing to pay.

You nailed it.

It's this whole concept that many of the promoters around here miss the boat on. I don't know of too many people that want to sit at a racetrack for five to seven hours; hell five hours is too long, unless Mother Nature intervenes. One or two support classes is enough, then make the difference up, based on your seating capacity by increasing your front and back gate. If the show gets the cars and drivers folks want to see, it'll make money.
