Legend, he's talking pure stock not street stock. They run stock heads, intakes, and 2 barrels. Only issue I see is that they have vortec heads. And I believe aluminum 4 barrel intakes. Not allowed under current rules. Horsepower would be damn close to current cars I believe.

these would be a good competetive engine for pure stocks if the rules are enforced in the class. I never understood why vortec heads are not legal in this class.

I agree. Much cheaper and easier to buy than a set of tricked out camel humps. Allow dual plane aluminum intakes too. Take the expensive, hard to find, exotic factory parts out of the game.

The problem with a strictly sealed crate class is the tech that goes along with it. Create a set of rules that makes a 602 legal to run with the current cars unsealed so that they can be checked like any other motor. Make the engine rules so you can buy a 602 or build your own with similar specs so there's no advantage either way. And TECH EVERY WEEK

Dude I'm not the grammar police- but how bout a period in your last rant- maybe spellcheck??? Gives me a headache just reading it- crates don't work- end of story. Not just here- pretty much everywhere. They are slow - people cheat them up- tech doesn't check. That's the legacy of crate motors.

So, you want people to throw out existing motors and spend $3500 for a crate motor?

Or you could just put an $800-$1000 claimer on the "pure stock" motors. That would make people think a little more about spending 3-5k on a motor that someone could buy next week for a grand..
