MODIFIEDS: Rex King, Jr. finished a disappointing 6th place in the memorial race for his grandfather at Sharon Speedway Saturday night. However, despite earning no Cavalcade Points he clinched the 2014 Cavalcade honors for the Modifieds. King has a 16 point lead over his dad with just three races left (2 at Sharon & 1 at Lernerville) and there are only 15 possible points for winning all three. With his win in the King memorial, Jim Weller moved to third in the points and has an outside chance of passing Rex King for second. 5 points up.
LATE MODELS: There was no change in Jared Miley's three point edge over Robbie Blair but things tightened a bit behind them with only 9 points separating the top six!! By sweeping the Pittsburgher weekend, Gregg Satterlee, the 2012 Cavalcade champ, moved from 9th to 3rd and is back in the hunt A triple point race ($3,000 or more to win) is worth 9 points!!
1. H1 Jared Miley 53 (8)
2. w11 Robbie Blair 50 (7)
3. 83 Matt Sever 48 (6)
3. 22 Gregg Satterlee 48 (6)
5. 10 Alex Ferree 45 (8)
6. 5 Mike Blose 44 (10)
LIMITED LATE MODELS: With a second at Dog Hollow, Rick Singleton gained 2 points on Max Blair and now has an 11 point edge. For Blair to win he must have a couple of real good races at Stateline & Eriez the next two weeks.
STOCK CARS: Chris Schneider blew off the competition not once, but twice in a pair of $1,500 to win Penn-Ohio Pro Stock races at Sharon last weekend. He sure didn't get anything handed to him as the luck of the re-draw put him in the fifth row at the green both nights! Those two wins moved him from 7th to tie season long leader Nate Smith at 62 points each. The remaining schedule favors Schneider with big races at Mercer & Lernerville, while Smith is not expected to race much. The third place driver, pavement pounder Adam Kostelnik (7 points back), appears out of the running as there is just a single race left at Motordrome. Chris Withers and Rusty Moore still have an outside chance if they do real well in the Mercer-Lernerville races.
GOOD RACING TO ALL
