with AMP closing the doors, whats everyones opinion on trying to get hummingbird to add the limited late class and drop the micros for next year? sucks that there were how many guys build cars for that class at AMP and now they call it quits. why not give these guys a chance to run their cars and not just blow their money?

I would strongly consider it; not just because I have two of them, but because it is an affordable class and if Properly teched; can be a very large field of cars.  there are at least 35 of them around and they put on a good show.

That would suck for the micro sprint teams that supported Hummingbird all season.  I thought they had pretty good counts each week in the micros.

I know a lot of fans that are upset watching the micro's with the amount of time they take and track grooming for them! I my self and the others I talk to would rather see the smaller motor lates run! TIRED OF THE RICEBURNERS......

I got the impression the night I was there this year, that the micro's weren't a fan favorite division.  I think it is the first time I was ever at a track where fans were complaining that there were too many cars...  I thought they put on a really good race that night.  I like the semi late class, and if any track could ever get all of them to show up on the same night, they would end up with a pretty good field.

Or another idea is just add the lim lates to the running order, but ALOT of fans are upset with the micros so just ax them! Their are a lot of them lates for only a 2 year start up! Just think in 2 more years they could have a b main to race the a main

It's a back gate track. Why would they get rid of the class that had the most cars many nights? Not saying it's right at all, but it's how they operate.

yes your right the micros did have a good car count. but on the other hand I myself heard a lot of complaints from the fans about them and also heard a lot of wining from the micro drivers that the track was too rough etc. I personally don't think the bird is a good micro track, not to mention they didn't want to come for the last race to race for a trophy. they wanted money which I can understand totally. but why not put on a good show for the fans and quit thinking about yours truly. just my opinion.....

If amp was the only place they could run and not get cars why would hummingbird bring them in ? I love late model but makes no sense to me. Guess that is why I go to Marion center 3 classes of late models to watch

How bout lates for $2k to win, stocks $700 to win, and 4cyl $200 to win weekly. Pack the pits with 3 classes and folks can have their kids home at a decent time. Quit trying to add classes. I know 5 people with minivans, doesn't mean we should start a class for them to race.

358 max cube with a cam lift limit and wet sump oil system 23 degree heads, flat top pistons, oil shocks, keeping it cheaper compared to the big engines and high dollar shochs

Also max 1.5 rockers, no roller cam or lifters, weigh2400 lbs, basicly like the steel block rules but engine and shocks on a lesser cost. And amp had over 30 built and raced but not all on same nite, and other guys were ready and never got to go because they closed

Sounds like the pure stock engine rules. They would have to tech better than they do now.

So let's drop one class that has 23-30 cars nightly for a class that has 4-7. Good idea genius. And you also pay the micros half of what the semi late pay is . Just because you don't like it doesn't mean the next guy doesn't. Someone does . Every class isn't for everyone. Go take a leak and grab a cheeseburger when they are out there. I personally hate watching the micros and love the idea of the semi late class. But you can't take a money maker class for the track and ditch it just because some ass doesn't like them. If that was the case there would be no classes because you can't please everyone. They have to do what makes $en$e or you are going to have another amp on your hands. You already have a steel block class. Next you'll want rush crates and supers. Let's run 4 latemodel divisions and 3 stock divisions. Be satisfied for a change. Add the division every other week until you get over 15 cars then you can think about what to do.by then it'll be 3 years later rather than committing financial suicide to make 3 fans happy. JmO

And another thing, these semi late cars that are already built are completely 100% legal to run with the steel blocks as is . Get together ,show up and race have consistent car counts and just maybe Louie will add the division to the bill. But just going on assumption that just because amp had 5 cars and they closed that Hummingbird will get 5 and probably double that is ludicrous.

Racer 777 the argument is that since amp got 5 cars and closed if the bird ads the class they will get 30 cars lol lol lol. Maybe those guys don't have the time or money to race every week .....
