I was talking to some guys last night at the knob and they said Josh Richards was back behind the wheel of his #1 car last Saturday turning laps. Looks like he is getting ready to make his return very soon. Glad to see is over come his illness.

What was the illness that was keeping him from driving? I literally have been wondering since he stopped and never found out.

Back in June the word I got from several close to the situation was they still didn't know what the problem was.  The main problem was in his hands with not being able to grip the steering wheel like a race driver has to.  I think he has been through a lot of tests and hopefully they have finally found out what the problem is!!

Taking practice laps doesn't mean a return is happening anytime soon. I hope he is able come back eventually . The sport needs all of the top teams it
Can get

This is true. It's likely going to be a while before he's truly comfortable in the car again, and it's awful late in the season to be making a comeback to actual racing, and there aren't a whole lot of weekly/regional show left for him to run to get back in the groove before racing with the best of the best again.

I just got a release that Josh will return to action this weekend during the UMP races at Eldora!!!  He will also be at the World Finals at Charlotte.  And it was some kind of nerve problem with his hands in line with what I had been hearing all along.   It is nice to have some GOOD news in a season where we have seemed to have a lot more bad then good!!!

GOOD RACING TO ALL!!!

Great news!!!  Josh is one of the best in the country.  It was shame he has been out from behind the wheel for so long.

His issue was indeed something to do with the nerves in his arm/hand.

Great to hear. Especially after hearing the rumors all year. This is really good news.
