Saddened to hear that Vern passed away last night... Lots of memories of his contributions to this areas racing. Miss seeing the Hawley name at the race track.

Thoughts and prayers to the Hawley family.  Vern was such a nice individual.  The times we had at Hickory under his direction is still among our fondest memories of racing.

Thoughts and prayers to the Hawley Family.  Vern was a great person to work for.  Enjoyed working for him at Mercer and Hickory Speedways.

Vern was a caring person, a hard worker and enjoyed the part he played with the sport of auto racing. His best involvement in life was watching his son race and his family. We enjoyed working for Vern at Hickory when he was at the helm. Vern touched you with his smile, he had a way of listening and you always knew he cared. Our Deepest Sympathy his wife Miko, son Jimmy and the entire Hawley Family. Dan & Linda Fennell

I will always be greatful to Vern and Mike for giving me my first public opportunity to proclaim my Christian faith at any racetrack when he was opening Hickory I offered my service to him for helping getting the track ready to open he in returned allowed me to be his track weldor as well as do the invocation before the races it is from there I have been able to continue for almost 23 years all because of Vern and his love for Jesus.

I will hold you dear for who you allowed jesus to be in your life,my prayers will be supporting your family as the deal with your new role as the newest member of heaven I am sure you will enjoy it and be awaiting each person that will take advantage of the admission Jesus has paid for to join him.  If you need to know about that admission ticket and how to get it Vern has ask me to explain it for him.

In Christ service
