Any racefan, big car, small car or in between would love Columbus indoors. I highly recommend if anyone is interested in some intense racing to google or show up on November 22nd. Even by big car standards the entensity of kart racing on a tight concrete lightning fast service will give ya quite the rush. That is a guarantee. 6 second laps on concrete with coke syrup is crazy fun.

I generally make at least one indoor at the Pig Barn,  along with Fort Wayne's Karts, Midgets and more at Xmas time.  If you haven't seen indoors in Columbus, there's no describing it and you wouldn't believe it.

And the odd thing is, Coke syrup works better than Pepsi for some reason. They tried Pepsi one year when we ran in the Greensboro NC Coliseum, and had to go back to Coke. So much for the old Pepsi slogan "Born in the Carolinas".

It's also worth mentioning that the Ohio kart series is run by Larry Boos, Director of Operations at Eldora.

Here's the site for Fort Wayne.  I'm posting it quick and I'll look for other info.

Found it on Bob's 4cycle.com

http://karting.4cycl...hlight=columbus

The race is in the Oneal Building on the Ohio State Fair Grounds.  I think it will cost you $5 to park plus what ever a pit pass is because all entry is into pit area.  Get there early and if it's cold, DRESS WARM.

You just won't believe how those things get around.

Eat good before you get there cause their food ain't cheap.  There's a McDonald's right when you get off the highway from the north, in case you forgot to eat earlier.  If I was coming from Pittsburgh to Columbus straight across Ohio, I'd stop at Schmitt's in German Town to eat before going to the track. Here's their site:  http://www.schmidthaus.com/

ps... Fort Wayne this year if 3 days for the first time.  I'm just going for the last two days.  It's pretty much stuff on the track racing or hot lapping from morning till night.  The 3rd day was added I think because everyone's there a day before, ... why not race.  The net of it is if you get there early for both days or even three now, you'll go home with racing over load.   By the way the tracks a little bigger then the Pig Barn in Columbus, but same thing ... they scoot. ... :)

Fort Wayne is no farther then going to Eldora, when you get close to Lima just keep heading west instead of southwest to Eldora.  Rout 30 across Ohio is not a bad road.  I would guess if your coming for south of Pittsburgh you'd proly go to Columbus and north west.  The roads ain't bad any way you go.  I stay at the Holiday Inn across from the Fort Wayne Colosseum and they have a shuttle that will take you there and pick you up after the races.  Plus, there's a bar if your interested at the Holiday Inn.   The Holiday Inn also has breakfast, but if your on a budget, you should avoid it because of cost.  Food ain't cheap at the races and they do sell beer.  If your interested one of the days your there, there's a half decent brew pub in Fort Wayne, if you happen to be a beer snob.

I've been going there probably for maybe 10 years now off and on, with more going then not.  When I miss it I regret it all year.

4 cycle is the best place to find info as noted above by dirt student. I would highly recommend this for even the casual fan. I am not exaggerating when I tell you it is really intense. You will leave smiling. Its a nice drive also from western pa about three hours to the fairgrounds. The "money" spent might even amaze many also.

We found the best way from Pgh to Fort Wayne is to take the pike all the way to IN then take I-69 straight down. Keep in mind at that time of year the roads can be bad, especially around the lake.

Ft Wayne is also a great show and has lots of racing in many types of classes. The Munchkin is still the hot midget chassis and Stewart has won with it on numerous occasions. We pitted near it and it's builder Mike Fedorchak one year while racing karts and got to know one of his engineer crew members that showed it to us. Very ahead of its time, that car really handles.

When I went to UNOH (Lima) I would run I-76 to I-71 south to Mansfield. Then just pick up Route 30 West in Mansfield straight out to Fort Wayne. They have since made 30 a 4 lane highway from Upper Sandusky to just before Beaver Dam.

and there's also the King of Concrete in SC, and Thanksgiving Thunder in GA at the Georgia Karting Komplex in Carnsville.  Interesting thing is I think that's the same town Fastrack says it's from. and ?  Don't know if it's the same people or not, but the Komplex is a very fast 1/4 mile.

king of the Concrete is a race I have wanted to go to for a long time. We actually had a young racer who races the series we promote that won down there last year. Unfortunately, its miles away and the weekend before Christmas. Simply dont have that kind of money the week before Christmas to go. Anyone got a thousand dollar bill to send me down there?Lol.
