I am not here to cause trouble or to read a bunch of tough guy computer crap. I was just stating a fact about the economy out east. I do business out there and it is better and different than around here. Owning a race track is a business and the owners have to make money to make it work. Instead of bashing the tracks for what divisions they run you should enjoy them. Most of the time the divisions your talking about are run and the end of the evening anyways and most people don't stick around to watch them unless they have a person involved in those classes. For what the admission is at Mercer, Sharon, or Lernerville charge for all the divisions they run is cheap entertainment for what they charge out east and they run 1 or 2 divisions. Which by the way are great shows too.

There are only so many race cars to go around in certain areas and that's it. So yes some area race tracks are going to draw more cars in certain divisions and others are going to hurt. The fuel and the weather is always a player in it too.

I go to Mercer all the time and yes sometimes the show goes too long but so does most tracks and its mostly out of the tracks control. The ones that bash this track and others should buy them and see how hard it is to operate a race track and keep everyone happy. Most of the people on here need to grow up and act like adults when the post on here. I have been to all the tracks and even the eastern tracks and the economy is different out east than it is here, so that makes a difference on what divisions they run.
Other than weather, electrical failure or a very serious accident, there is no reason a race program should be any longer than 3 to 3 1/2 hours. It's a short attention span society; most people are happy with a racing program that runs roughly the same length as a stick and ball event. I say most people. There are some people that like to sit there and drink for 5 or 6 hours, or others that simply have nothing better to do, but that's a whole other topic. Most of the weekly shows around here are entirely too long primarily because of two things; too much junk and intermissions.
As far as the "If you think you can do better" argument goes, use it elsewhere. I've said before that I don't know anything about the restaurant business, but I know a bad one when I've been there.

I simply am turned off by Mercer because they let there announcer come on social media and bash other tracks, racers, and fans. They continue to let this happen. It says a lot about them.
Hopefully he is to be replaced also. Get a real announcer.

Skull if you like short shows go to ppms . They get 35 cars total in 6 divisions and even with an hour long intermission ur still out by 9:15 lol
Jon...
Just wait till this year. On a "Action Event " night if they run the trophy divisions after fast laps (before the 7:00 start time) like the schedule states they have the option of doing you can be done by 8:30 and never turn the lights on.....

If it was a business meant to make money, then by absolutely no means would they let their concessions be run like they are. Worst Ive ever seen. But most importantly, major lost profits for the track. It's sad but they don't wanna listen to anyone. If its a business, they need to run it like the business it is: an entertainment business. Love mercer but they need some help, and fast.

Just imagine bashing tracks, racers and fans on social media. Say it ain't so, Joe.

Old sales saying, way back when all those chrome tombstone cash registers were being sold to bars. Way back when there were a lot of bars.
"A receipt on the floor means cash in the drawer."
The original purpose of a receipt was not so the customer would get one, it was to help keep employees honest. Ever been through a line and your order didn't get rung up? If the owner does it, their cheating on their taxes and if an employee does it, there ... just fixing a mistake they made before you came through the line.
All tracks should give out receipts at track operated concessions. And if anyone correctly reports they did not get a receipt, the fan should get a pass to the next race.

I think the new owner has done a good job with Mercer ! Cannot please everyone but give them a break. It's a really good show, we cannot afford to lose any more tracks !

Other than the select few bad eggs, nobody has said they want to see the place close. We want to HELP the place. We want to HELP them improve their show, HELP them improve their concessions, HELP them improve their attendance, and ultimately HELP them improve profits. Bill, Frank, and crew have gotten their feet wet after the ownership change. They just need to keep refining what they have to offer. Doing the same thing year after year with the same results isnt cutting it.
Now Im sure Dutko will be on here yelling at me for 'bashing' the place, but just think about this for a minute: Why in any other business world are opinions or comments from customers about a business considered suggestions, but in racing opinions or comments from customers are considered 'bashing'???

Crust is spot on about that pit men's room. Maybe spots on is a better term. And in the BEGINNING, the 305's were going to be Racesaver and Schwankes with the Schwankes phased out after two years. Somehow that phase out disappeared and things even got worse.

I don't think running the Trophy classed before 7 will even matter, on the nights that they have no Super Lates, there will be 2-3 less races, That should knock 1/2 hour off the show at a minimum. Between 8:30-9:00 will be the norm.
