Why is it that we hear very little about this part of history anymore?  T.v. has forgotten about it,or just doesn't care anymore as it doesn't boost their rating's. Those that died that day should have a day,or week named after them, and promoted like they do for "THE MINORITY" when they feel wronged. Everybody that has died in the war's were doing so to protect this country, and not trying to milk it to death like the minority is doing. It is time we as a whole put "our history" where it belong's ahead of the poor me history of the politically correct b.s. now out there.

Agreed on Pearl Harbor Day there wasn't even a movie on about it, and there were so many good ones made...the best I could do was the sci-fi flick "Battleship," which is an OK movie but what happened to "Tora Tora Tora" or something of that nature?

I take my vacation so that I'm here (hawaii) every year. Being at Pearl Harbor for the dec 7th observance is very moving. Every year the people attending are older and you don't see many younger people showing up.

So true what ever the latest story is they run with it. My Dad's generation lived it. I hope it is not forgotten. As long as men like my 93 year old uncle who was there is alive  the stories will live on. He was up on the hill on guard and told me when he saw all the planes coming in he thought it was odd to see so many on a Sunday morning playing war games but when the hit the Arizona and it rolled over he knew they were under attack and it was war. Thanks for bringing the topic up.

You should take a tape recorder and record everything your Grandfather tells you about that day...there are so few of these people left that lived it.
