Tracks paying 2k to win supers usually don't do it for very long.....

Bacon you need to go outside of the confines of PPMS. There are other successful race tracks in the tri-state area. Stateline has paid higher than any track in the area. They have several specials paying $5000 to win and a great payout form top to bottom. Huge crowds every week and SRO when the WoO's ran there a few years back.

I was at PPMS exactly once last year. I've been to Stateline before, multiple times in fact. The crowds were good and the racing was okay. Thing is, if it was so successful, why in the hell would they be looking to be "rescued"? I understand Jen didn't want anything to go do with the track anymore and all, but if was as profitable as you think, she'd be have been willing to keep at it.

The amount of shadiness that's been going on up there in the past year is concerning, for sure. You'd have to be paying attention to understand that, though. I feel really bad for the fans at Stateline and Eriez because they're the ones that are going to realize soon enough that the money everybody thinks is there, well, isn't.

Don't think anyone knows for sure what's going to happen but when someone comes in guns a blazing promising the World to the racing community it brings back visions of KC Spurlock and John Kennedy and we seen how their promises ended up.....

Who pays more than lernerville ????

Mercer payout is way better for the stock cars I'll tell you that one as far as other divisions idk. I don't understand how they have a full field of cars every week

Since Jen took it over after Fran passed, she done a great job and made good money. Basically doing what Fran had done for years other than being a mean SOB at times. The only reason she is not there now is because of legal issues that been a fight for years. I nothing about who the new guy is or what went on there this past year. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Ron Davies was trying to get a deal to purchase the track but the same legal issues were a deal breaker.

MRP pays more becasuse they have to, not because they want to. There is too much competition for Stocks on Saturday nights. I would also point out that it is easier to run up front at MRP than at Lernerville. If that offends, I really could care less.

$1500 to win for Sprints, Modifieds, and Super Lates and $50 to start at Lernerville is honestly quite pathetic. That's why people cant continue to race and support the speedway. But they have no competition on Friday nights. Therefore, everyone will be there no matter the payout. Everyone thinks $5000 to win for sprints is a special. That's funny. They basically run for that weekly in central PA. That's why the Sprints are thriving out there, Mods in New York, and Late Models down south if I do believe so.

Meanwhile, back to Lernerville.  They lowered what constitutes a full field.  Previously sprints went from 24 to 20.  Based on that,  of the 15 shows in 2014 , they only had a  full field on 7 occasions.  They didn't on eight.  If 24 was still the norm for a field, they had a full field on just 3 shows.   If they lower the full field number to eighteen, they would have had a full field on 13 of the 15. And if they had just lowered the full field requirement to 14 , they would have had a full field every night.  Must be paying enough. It was a full field.   And it might be easier to get to the front if you start 14th instead of 24th.  Maybe not.  But you don't have to pass so many cars and you have a better chance for a top ten finish. And even if you don't pass anyone,  sounds better to tell everybody you finished 14th instead of 24th.

Central PA tracks pay around 3k to win weekly, not 5k. Knoxville pays about the same. Attica and Fremont pay 2k I think.

 

The more successful modified tracks in New York in terms of drawing cars, Fulton, Brewerton, Albany Saratoga and Canadaigua all pay 1500 to win. Grandview out east pays the most in modified racing, at 3k a week. They also get the biggest car count, but much like Lernerville, they're the only game in town on Saturday's. Big Diamond runs Fridays and pays slightly less at 2800 to win, and they get slightly less cars than Grandview.

 

Southern weekly late model purses are generally lower than Lernerville's, and there are very few tracks actually running super late models weekly anyways. Crates and steel blocks running for absolute peanuts is the headliner most places. Super late model runners generally run a specials only schedule with the Carolina Clash, Ultimate Series, and Ray Cook's Spring and Summernationals mini-tours, and whenever WoO or Lucas comes to town.

There was an article in Fridays Erie Times stating that Bobby Roher has not received the schedule for the down payment, and he was getting ready to set the schedule for the track.

Per Victor Fernandes' twitter, @ETNfernandes, on Friday afternoon:  "What's going on with the #Eriezspeedway sale? Nothing...Bob Rohrer & Bill Catania are going back to negotiating, no timetable is set #erie."

 

He went on to say that Bill canceled their meeting and hadn't called him back.  He had also not heard from Rohrer.
