The snow and cold weather continue to make headlines in Western PA but the staff of the Tri-City Raceway Park has finalized the 2015 schedule and is proud to announce that the Venango County oval will reopen on Sunday, May 17th.
“We are excited to get the 2015 racing season underway as the feedback we have been receiving from local fans and race teams has been very encouraging,” stated Co-Promoter Chad Wagner.
The season opener will feature the BRP Modified Tour ’15 competitors in a $5,000 to win main event. “The Big Block Modifieds have a rich history at the speedway and we feel this event will definitely draw a lot of interest from teams in New York and New Jersey in addition to the great field of drivers that we have here in Western PA and Eastern OH,” commented Wagner. The UEMS E-Mod Series, Pro-Stocks and the PA Vintage Dirt Modifieds will also be in action.
Racing action will continue on Father’s Day, Sunday 21st, as Winged Super Sprints will headline the action in a $2,000 to win main event. The Bill Emig Memorial for the RUSH Pro-Late Models, the 305 Sprints, Pro-Stocks and the Econo-Mods will round out the evening’s racing card.
The “Winged Warriors” will make their second appearance at the Venango County oval on Sunday, July 26th. The Christmas in July action will also include the 305 Sprints, the UEMS E-Mods and the Mini-Stocks in addition to lots of Christmas gifts for the fans in attendance. It will also be Twin-State Auto Racing Club night and club members in attendance will receive discounted Grandstand Admission.
August means it’s “back to school time” and at Tri-City Raceway Park that also means the School Buses will take to the racing surface for some exciting “side by side” racing action. The August 16th event will also showcase the ULMS Super Late Models, the UEMS E-Mods, the RUSH Pro-Late Models and the Pro-Stocks. The off-track racing action in August will include the first ever Tri-City Raceway Park “Touch a Truck event” earlier that afternoon. The event will feature local rescue equipment, heavy equipment, tow trucks, race cars and more. Children of all ages will have the opportunity to get behind the wheel, honk the horns and meet the men and women who operate the equipment.
The 2015 racing season will conclude with a long time Tri-City tradition, “Applefest.” As in the past the Pro-Stock Division will headline the Applefest racing action, which will be held on Sunday, September 13th. The 305 Sprints, RUSH Modifieds and the Econo-Mods will also be in action for the final event of 2015.
