That was the most pathetic piece of garbage I have ever seen. Nascar should be ashamed of itself. Most drivers were afraid to criticize nascrap. Tore up a bunch of cars for what ?? Looked like a 3 ring circus

Right on rabbit!!!!!   A waste of two hours time to watch!!!   Bowyer hit the nail on the head, but NASCAR will probably come down on him for what he said!!!

What did you watch 5 or 6 laps?
What was the ticket price for that?
NASCAR should of gave everyone their money back.

Do you think Clint Bower will get fined?

Group Qualifying... NO! Draft Qualifying... YES! Ridiculous.... YES! Talk about easy to fix the times! Sure Fox posted speeds well after the qualifying, but in the past the little meter was following along. I like Gordon, but I smell a send off for the ages coming this year. JMO.

gonna take the other side of this just for discussion (debate)----I really don't give a $hit either way -----not a fan or follower of this level of racing --just commenting

one organization rose above the rest----they read the rules and procedures and came up with a plan----executed the plan and prevailed

others complained and whined about the system and failed

just an observation

The system failed and cost a lot of teams some money not to mention the safety aspect. NASCAR used to b the thing we all looked forward to during winter months now its a bunch of bullshit some rich dumbasses came up with bored on a golf course. Simple

About the only positive I can pull from all this is.... I watched it. I would never sit and watch single car qualifying runs. That alone is not a good thing though, as everyone watching ended up pissed off by the end. You don't want the world watching unless you put on a good show.

I actually enjoyed it.  One at a time qualifying is boring!!  I see it as those who screwed up, were the ones bitching.  No different than any Saturday night race. Boyer screwed up on pit road and tried to blame it on someone else (did he have to wait to the last second to go?)  In the end it took brains and equipment to win the pole, and hell I'm not even a Hendrick Fan.

The point alot are trying to make is so much money is put into this. So much time, pride in the shop is put into qualifying for Daytona. This format did not just screw individual drivers. It screwed crews, people who work hard at the shop. Gordon and Johnson only got the pole because they were lucky. And I am a hendrick team fan but what happened yesterday was ludicrous.

i think it would work if they started on a rolling yellow get rid of the gap drafting advantages put them in a pack like a heat race almost and let them draft for a full 5 minutes then there is no sitting on pit road banged up cars on pit road and so on. i think it could work and be exciting if just a little bit more thought was put into it.

Nascar got exactly what They wanted. We all watched, and as long as people keep talking about it, more people are going to watch next time. Personally, I understand they are trying to change things up. But, this qualifying garbage DOES NOT put fans in all those empty seats we all see. Run qualifying races and line em up that way. O, isn't that on t.v. Thursday ? crap for 2 front row spots.
