Are any of you Racestudders going to try to make it up there?
So, it's looking like 2015 might be the last year for Syracuse

I make the trip every year. I love the atmosphere, very similar to the World 100 and Knoxville Nationals. It also gives you the opportunity to see a lot of events in a short amount of time.

I seen video .... Didnt look like anything worth driving to go see
The race itself is rarely any good past the first hundred laps. The only real drama is usually the pit stops. It's almost always a fuel mileage deal and the fastest car almost never wins. The satelite events during the week are always much better races.
But it's hard to match the atmosphere at the mile. The new cars. The fact that everybody who is anybody in northeastern modified racing is there. The party (although it's not quite the same since the Ghetto went away). The last chance qualifier for the big block race. There's always that one guy that nobody expects in the first hundred that makes a bunch of noise.

How likely is this? I didn't realize the fair board was discussing tearing down the grandstands.

Yeah, the amphitheater going up across the street has led to big plans at the fairgrounds where the grandstand and track would be removed and a parking lot, new ice rink and equestrian arena would go in the current site of the track. there's been plans on the table to get rid of the track for various reason for like the last tean years, but this one looks like it's going to happen, and sadly, I don't think any petition is going to save it. I signed it, knowing full well it probably won't mean a goddamn thing.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, it does not look good for the track.
