If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it does it still make a noise ?
If a dumbass makes a stupid comment on racestuds, does he really matter?

Good luck Dow, always a class act. Maybe you can sneak in a few cameo appearances at PPMS for the big shows.

You make it sound like it was a negative thing between PPMS and Dow.
I am not sure that there was anything negative that caused him to do only one night a week.
Its going to be a very tryng time because Dow knows everything about everybody. He is a credit to local racing and should be in the Hall of Fame. Did I just nominate Dow Carnahan for the HOF? Anybody second that?!
Good luck to his replacement, you have some pretty big shoes to fill.

Replacement here. Thanks bezerker for the well wishes. And I completely agree I do indeed have big shoes to fill. As I said last night, I have no ideas that I am replacing Dow, just the guy who comes after him. He has set the bar for the announcers in this region and coming in behind him will likely be quite humbling.
As for his duties outside of racing, he stated last night that he simply can't do the racetrack announcing two nights a week anymore. In fact, in his role as WCNS Radio sports director he nearly missed the banquet and his Sportsman of the Year Award due to being in New Jersey covering St. Vincent College Basketball in the NCAA Division 3 Tournament.

I have had the honor of working with Dow at Lernerville for the last 9 years and can only say what an incredible person he is no doubt he will be missed at PPMS but I know the character of Jim as he steps up to this level he will be very focused in this new job.
We need to respect his(Dows) position of doing what is best for him and his personal life, I would encourage each of you to pray for this transition for both Dow and Jim that it will be smooth and have wonderful results.
Thank you Dow
