Might not be a joke, I actually heard from a totally different source ((meaning not on here)) that there was going to be something...

AMP had the Banquet Saturday.
I heard Jeff came dump the trophys and left.
I also heard he short paid Ralph Engle Jr. $1,200.00 of the $2,000.00 owed.
Is this true? If this is true I guess Jeff's not the person I thought he was.

I didn't say anything, however, when I heard the initial story I heard that it was supposed to be in the middle of March sometime...that was kept pretty quiet...

Jeff turned into a very classy act didn't he? I'm actually surprised he showed his face back in the area - which may be why he didn't hang around. He still owes the PA Vintage Mods a decent sum of money but we've resigned ourselves to the fact that's never to be seen. I'd like to wish Jeff all the best for the future but you know...... I just cant do it.

I may be wrong, but I believe the banquet was just for the 305 sprints?

I bet he's driving a 2015 Lamborghini Aventador that was twin turbo'd by underground racing and the interior done by carvaggio just off what he made off fans who paid to see your vintage exhibition race ..... You guys draw fans that make the Knoxville nationals look like a pee wee football crowd !!! You should pay him to race there lol lol .

The point is, the guy owes the vintage club money that they are likely never receive. Their ability to draw fans not withstanding, Dingo has a right to be pissed.

He owes a lot of classes money doesn't he?  Like I said I don't think the banquet was for everyone, I believe it was just the 305 sprints?  Can anyone confirm that?

Skull I understand your point ... My point is that the guy lost his ass attempting to re open that shit hole so I feel bad for him. People bitch non stop that people need to step up to keep racing alive and the guy tried and failed miserably and you all want to crucify him. If the place was packed and he was raking in money and didnt pay then ok go lynch him but that wasn't the case at all

OK, I’m not going to get into any kind of shouting match here…Mr. Taylor called me “before” he entered into a lease with Joey C and asked what I thought ((not that it mattered much)) I said, number one don’t lease the place, number two…”DON’T GO UP AGAINST HUMMINGBIRD,” three, run the same rules as the Bird, but on a different night…OK with that said…the first year seemed to go OK I guess, but from talking to a lot of people that were involved up there…there were a LOT of problems…rule changes, promises not kept, people not getting paid,  etc etc…Jeff should have kept the promises he made, and then made the announcement…look boys and girls we aren’t coming back…then to top it all off the article in AARN…which basically condemned the entire county and everyone in it…not good…especially for a business man.

I’m not out to condemn him, it’s a shame it didn’t work, it’s a shame he spent a ton of money…I don’t blame him at all for not re-opening…and I don’t think anyone else really does either…to me it’s just the way he went about everything.

I don't disagree with you. Really, I don't have an opinion of Jeff Taylor one way or the other, but it seems to me there is enough blame for the failure of the place to go around. Everyone else that had the place had issues making money, so maybe Taylor didn't do enough in depth research before he bought it. No matter what though, there can be no doubt that that area has trouble supporting any kind of racing, for a variety of reasons.

While I can see both Huck's and Skull's points, I see Taylor just another member of the area's "rogues gallery" of promoters who skipped out when things got rough. On that list with such memorable rogues as Bucky F. at Latrobe in 1979, Bruce R. at Motordrome 70 in 1989, and K.C. S. in 2001 at WV Motor Speedway. But sadly, as bad as it is as far as people being owned money from AMP, it wouldn't even make a dent in what the these three owed, the racers, employees, and suppliers. The problem I see with guys like Taylor, as they go into the aventures with rose colored glasses, and never seem to see what the possible problems could be. They also are never prepaired to lose money, and lots of it. Unless you have some money to lose, (or someone else's), you probably shouldn't be looking at running a racetrack, no matter how good you feel your intentions are. The other thing that all to many of guys like Taylor do, is like Skull says, is they never ever do the research to see why the track was closed, or why the current owner/promoter is leaving/left.

The other problem is they read message board advice from people who have never had to
Make payroll. They see guys talk about
How
Amazing a track would be if only they paid each car 10 more dollars. Up in meth country people don't have the money to go watch races let alone have a race car. Reopening a track there was a fools errand. Frank Wilson burned everyone at Tyler for a total of probably 30 times what you guys claims this taylor fella owes you and morons plan to support pennsboro of he gets it reopened

All of these are valid points, stuff that The Legend says are most times correct, he just puts things a little differently...one thing for sure you must have an extremely LARGE checking account to run a race track.

I was going to try and keep my opinion to myself but when you get some know it all nail bender from Pittsburgh throwing his dumb ass view around  i might as well be as dumb as he is right ????so Jeff Taylor lost money huh ? you know this for sure or did momma decide that home is in New jersey and want to go home ? kind of like the old t.v series green acres only in reverse .this guy sold 88 hillside spots for 100 dollars plus charged you every week to sit in that spot add that in .when he had his rules meeting he said and i quote .....I know nothing about any class but sprint cars so you guys make the rules on your own class and that what they will be , but then he turns around and changes the pure stock class right off the bat .triple disc clutches and double pumper carbs in the pure stocks ???really??? and then a 10 inch tire on  a 8 inch wheel, i asked why not a 10 inch tire on a 10 inch wheel  then you could get older street stocks out of peoples garages . oh well he is gone the track is closed and that is that, maybe someone will reopen it that has a clue to what needs to be done .as for not having anyone around here that has any money to race if the classes were set up right you would have cars .
