FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hesston Speedway Ready to Roar for “Track Test 1” on April 12

(Hesston, PA)  After sitting idle for 21 months, the earth will shake once again at Hesston Speedway this weekend.  The 3/8 mile supertrack will re-open its gates for the first of two “Track Test” open practice sessions on Sunday, April 12.

On Sunday, April 12, the gates will open at noon with practice from 1:30 to approximately 5:30.  Any dirt-track type of car with a full roll cage is welcome to try out the highbanks of Hesston during these open practice sessions.  Several sessions will be held for division in rotation.

Admission for the “Track Test 1” is $20 for the pits, with grandstand and trackside parking free.   Please note that trackside parking spaces are reserved for the year and the passholders will have priority for those parking spots.  The pit concession will be open with a limited menu.

“Track Test 2” is scheduled for the same times on Sunday, April 19 with the “Dirt Driving Experience” to follow at approximately 5:30.   The “Dirt Driving Experience” allows licensed drivers to take the wheel of a real Semi-Late Model Sportsman car, as well as ride-along experience in the two seat Super Late Model.  The “Dirt Driving Experience” is by appointment only, which can be scheduled by calling 814-285-2079 or emailing teritchey@centurylink.net.    More information on the “Dirt Driving Experience can be found at  http://hesstonspeedw...vingexperience/.

The force returns on Saturday May 2 for the official grand re-opening of “Motor Mountain.”  The “2015 Blastoff” will feature an all-championship racing program headlined by the powerful Semi-Late Model Sportsman paying $1,000 to win for the 30 lap feature.    The LaSalle Engine & Chassis open-wheel E-mods will invade  the highbanks for the first time ever, with a $700 to win, 25 lap championship.   The sleek A-Cadets will race 25 laps for $500 to win, with the Freedom Powersports heavy-metal Hobby-Modifieds paying $300 to win for 20 laps and the Dave’s Auto Body & Towing wild Roadrunners paying $200 to win for 15 laps.  The rain date for this event is Saturday, May 9.

Super Late Models will appear twice in the month of May at Hesston.  The “Hesston Trophy” on Saturday May 16 will feature the 800 horsepower monsters in a $1,500 to win event.  This race will serve as a tune-up for one of the highly anticipated events of the 2015 season, as the UFo Super Late Models arrive back on planet earth for the “DR Eriksen Grand Prix” on Sunday, May 24.   This event will pay $4,056 to the winner in tribute of the “Dirt Doctor,” who totally rebuilt the track in the first part of the decade.

JELT Enterprises, Inc. has been diligently working at the speedway to assure that the facility is in top-notch condition when the gates open once again.   Hesston Speedway was famous for three and even 4 wide racing, and revised banking in the turns will allow the action to be even more spectacular in 2015.

“Motor Mountain” is located in the scenic Raystown Lake and mountain country of central PA and provides a wonderful opportunity for race fans and race teams to make a complete weekend getaway when attending the racing events at Hesston.  All fans are provided an excellent view of the action, with grandstand seating and drive-in viewing built high above the racing surface.    Hesston welcomes campers and now offers in track-camping on the back straight viewing ramp.
