You say his " problem " isn't the chassis .... I say 99.9% of racers would
Love to have the " problem " of having won a Lucas and woo show last year !!

Where did I say he sucked???

If you look at his past history in the last ten years he has switched chassis more than any driver around.

Rick Eckert is following right in his foot steps with the same results.

At one time both of them were in the top five of the best drivers in the country back in the day.

The thing with Davey and all the chassis switching. He usually runs, and wins, in Rockets. He wants a change for whatever reason (Lazer and Warrior in the fairly recent past) and is very fast from 1-5 shows. Then the results fall way off. Then he just stops racing. Then after a couple months of inactivity, he turns up again in a Rocket and starts the whole process over again. So based on this cycle, even if it is him that bought the Sweet/Bloomquist car, I believe he'll end up in Rocket and run up front by late June/Early July.

I understand this board has a rocket fetish but to ignore the national success the other brands are having and acting like rocket is a far superior product is laughable .... Eckert just spent a season driving a no expenses spared rocket prepared by king jack
Off himself to zero woo wins.

I don't have a Rocket fetish as it pertains to racing. I have some Rocket shirts and such because I like the logo, but that's really it. I like the Longhorn logo, so when I see some of those shirts I'll probably cop a couple of them too. I'm just not a huge fan of driver shirts, so I really don't have many of them.

As for the actual racing, I have a fetish with drivers sticking with what works for them. Like with Davey J, it's clear he runs the best in Rockets, and every time he swtiches away from them, he ends up back in them within a relatively short period. If the majority of his previous wins came in a MastersBilt or whatever and he kept switching away from them to try something else and swtiching back to them, I'd say he needs to just stay in MastersBilt cars all the time and stop all the switching.

Now if a guy has run a certain car for years and the results have just fallen off a cliff and never really get better, like Chub Frank in Rockets, then swtiching up to something different is absolutely the right choice. Sometimes programs need a change of that magnitude.

If your saying that Davey J should stick to what works for him then shouldn't he bee in a Bullitt?

If the Bullitts that existed way back then were still available (with modern upgrades, of course), yeah.

The Legend has struck the nail right on the head as usual.. Most of all talk to most but not all of the car

owners who have furnished rides for Mr. Johnson. You might be surprised.

He probably runs better in the Rocket because he helped design/develop the cars that Rocket sells today ? LoL. They suit him , because they were built to HIS specs

The top guys in the country side by side for 32 or 11 crate cars for 15 .... And you don't see the 32 as providing value ???

In terms of the show a Lucas race is worth 32 ... An 11 car crate and 9 car cadet race is worth maybe 3 dollars IF it was BYOB

I have a feeling he's talking about Roaring Knob vs. Lernerville. Lernerville's weekly show is the very best in the area and the admission price is very reasonable. I'm going to the races for the first time this season tonight and I had this debate in my head myself.

That said, I'm mostly a late model fan. I'm headed to The Knob. 32 bucks is about what you'd pay most places for a national touring show. I'm not mad about it at all.

$32 is pretty much in line with other tracks that have national touring series.  Most tracks I see are between $28 and $35 with some higher for national touring events.  While $32 is a little steep for me these days, for the quality of equipment and drivers, it really isn't that bad.

I think a lot of people hold all tracks to Lernerville's standard when it comes to national touring show prices (20-25 bucks for a regular WoO sprint or LM show), and that's pretty unfair. Lernerville doesn't have to come up with the large sanctioning fee and the whole purse like most tracks, they only have to pay the purse.
