I see tracks are trying to do more things to make money. The shame is that when they try something different racers don't support it. The point of them doing this is to make money to help keep their track going. Many tracks are trying this so as racers we should support them. Let's keep racing around for years to come.

Just in general. I know that tracks have tried to do new things, like truck pulls swap meets concerts and so on. I know some people have the feeling that the tracks are just looking out for themselves. Yes they are trying to make money for the track but it's so they can keep them open. So if your track is putting something on go give it support. That's all I'm saying.

No idea what your talking about. Maybe Mercer with the truck pulls, but Tri-City by my estimation had a fantastic crowd Saturday night.

2022 - 66 Races @ 16 Tracks

2021 - 100 Races @ 32 Tracks
2020 - 56 Races @ 15 Tracks

2019 - 75 Races @ 23 Tracks

If I was to guess, he is talking about the different tracks that do other activities at their track other than racing....ie. Sharon and their concert Friday...was chatting with the 2 ladies selling beer at Sharon Saturday and I asked how the concert went...they stated that there was like only 50 people that showed up...AND that Sharon gave away FREE 200 tickets to the concert...they said it was a total bust...I told them that I have never heard of "Key West" and asked what type of music, they said it was like a Jimmy Buffet tribute band....I am not a music person, so it would not have interested me....JMO

Maybe racers are working on their cars or at their jobs when the tracks have the special non-race events?

I will never follow this logic that the onus is on the racer to make the track successful ...

If you (general term) as a racer or race fan really want to help the track be successful, it would be best not to berate, down talk track conditions etc. etc etc., Another words keep it to yourself, I don't think anyone/track is hurting for ideas there seems to be and endless supply.

What I can't understand is why some drivers continue to support certain tracks even though they are continually pissed on.

Most of the time those special events are going on the racers are racing at other tracks so they can't come to these special events.

This is like saying that Penguins players should attend every event at Consol Energy Center to show their support for the arena.  Holding an event at a race track, other than a traditional race, is trying to attract a different audience.  Consol attracts hockey fans to hockey games, music fans to concerts, etc.

Racers should be dedicated to their cars, not the tracks.  If there's an open date at one's home track due to a non-racing event, I would guess that for the most part, racers either take a rare day off or go to a track that is racing.  Instead of paying to enter a non-racing event at a track, racers can hold that money for their next pit fee.

If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you just suck.

if they would advertise in the local paper they would get people theres people that don't even know theres a race track in trumbull county who's fault is that why advertise to race fans when most of the time there either gonna be there or already know about it idea is to reach the people that aren't race fans or don't know anything about it.

Right?

Too many tracks around here give the perception that they could give a damn less about the teams that support them weekly and show up for specials. It's one of the reasons these places have trouble drawing fields and therefore getting fans.

I agree with most of these posts/comments: I am a race fan, not a concert fan or truck and tractor pull fan... IF I am going to spend my money, 1st its going to be in the pits to help out our team or 2nd if we are not scheduled to run car, it will be to spectate a dirt track race... I think I spend enough on those 2... now if it was girls mud wrestling or something very similar I might attend....hahaha.... BUT you got to give the tracks credit for trying to bring other options to those people who don't have the dirt in their blood...
