June Events at Hesston Showcase Thunder Divisions
(Hesston, PA) Hesston Speedway will roar into action three times during the month of June with events that will showcase competitve thunder divisions. 305 Sprints, Hobby-Modifieds, Roadrunners, Pro-4’s and E-mods will headline races in the upcoming month along with Semi-Lates and Cadets in competition.
The “Blade Runner” on Saturday, June 6 will be the first appearance of the season of the Laurel Highlands and PASS Racesaver 305 Sprints. The winged warriors will race in an extra-distance 25 lap feature event. An excellent field of 305 Sprint cars is expected as the two Racesaver regions combine for this race. The powerful Semi-Lates (limited/crate/steel block)will also be in action with a 25 lap feature paying $700 to win. Cadets will race for $400 to win with Hobby-Modifieds paying $200 and Roadrunners paying $100.
The following Saturday, June 13, Hesston Speedway will present the “Charlie Walter, Jr. 42”. This special event will pay tribute to the memory of Charlie Walter, Jr. Charlie was a winning Hobby division driver and champion. This race will put the “heavy metal” divisions in the limelight. The Hobby-Modifieds (pure stocks) will race 24 laps for $442 to win while the Roadrunners (4 cylinder fwd stock) will race 18 laps for $342 to win. Additionally, the PAMS Pro-4’s will make their only appearance of the season with a $500 to win event. The Semi-Lates will race for $700 to win and Cadets for $400 to win.
A new summer starting time will be in effect beginning June 6. Pits will open at 3:30 with grandstands opening at 5:30. Pill draw cutoff and drivers meeting will be at 6:15 with racing at 7:00. On June 6 and 13, grandstand tickets will be $12 with children 12 and under free in grandstand. All pit tickets will be $28.
The Mid-Atlantic Modified E-mods will invade the highbanks on Saturday, June 20 for “Revenge of the Mods,” The 30 lap E-mod feature will pay $800 to win, and $90 to start. This event will be part of a 2-day Mid-Atlantic E-mod weekend along with Dog Hollow Speedway on Sunday, June 21. The E-mods generated a thrilling race on opening night at Hesston, and have been added to the remaining 2015 schedule several times. The Semi-Lates will race for $700 to win in a 25 lap feature with Cadets paying $400 to win, Hobby-Modified paying $200 to win and Roadrunners paying $100 to win.
UFo Super Late Models will return on Thursday, July 2 for “Revolution 2015.” The 44 lap UFo Super Late Model division will pay $3,000 to win.. Semi-Lates will race 30 laps for $1,000. The E-mods will be back with another $800 to win event. Cadets and Hobby-Modifieds will also be on the program that night.
“Motor Mountain” is located in the scenic Raystown Lake and mountain country of central PA and provides a wonderful opportunity for race fans and race teams to make a complete weekend getaway when attending the racing events at Hesston. All fans are provided an excellent view of the action, with grandstand seating and drive-in viewing built high above the racing surface. Hesston welcomes campers and now offers in track-camping on the back straight viewing ramp.
