Tri-City Raceway Park is proud to announce that they will hold two practice sessions at the speedway to provide competitors and race fans with additional opportunities to visit the newly reopened facility.  The first practice session is slated for Wednesday, July 15th and a second practice will be held on Wednesday, August 12th.

"Mother Nature and the weather have not provided us with any opportunity to get our first two racing programs in.  Area residents and race teams have been anxiously awaiting the speedway's reopening and we wanted to provide them with the opportunity to see the renovations at the speedway as we well as the chance to get on the track for a few laps," stated Co-promoter Chad Wagner.

The July 15th event will also serve as a Media Day preview.  "Several regional journalists have contacted the speedway office as they are excited to provide local residents with a "sneak peek" of the racing action that will take place and this practice session will provide them with the footage they need," continued Wagner.  Any local or regional journalists and photographers who would like to attend are asked to contact Marcie Barlow at marcie@tricityracewaypark.com or (724) 816-8482.

Pit and Grandstand Admission gates for the July 15th event will open at 5:00PM.  The practice session will get underway at 5:30PM and continue until dusk.

Grandstand Admission is Free however Pit Admission will be $20.00.

Limited concessions will be available at the practice sessions.

While AMB Transponders are required for the practice session race teams should note that the AMB software will be in operation at both practice sessions so that the race teams will have their lap times available on the My Laps website (www.mylaps.com).

Speedway officials will also release a revised schedule for the remaining events to be held in July, August and September, in the near future.

Once again the entire staff and management at Tri-City Raceway Park would like to thank the drivers, race teams and fans for their tremendous support of the speedway as it will officially reopen after four years of inactivity on Sunday, July 26th.

I figure you meant to say "are not" required for the practice session.

Will there be an ambulance and any safety crew there?
