Do you ever notice even in crates where a car will blow past another car coming off the corner only to have said car blow back past ??? Let me fill you in on a secret ..... Handling means way more than horsepower and hitting a tacky spot on the track can out weight both of them ...

What does that have to do with the question of fairness.we are talking about builders checking their own work and .is it fair to the drivers.500 is a lot for a driver to spend to get a short answer

Once again I ask, what is your solution? Should Don turn down the paying job? Or should Mercer find a tech guy that doesn't build an engine for 1 car out of the 6 divisions they run weekly?

Losers cry that everyone that's beating them is cheating, winners find a way to beat those that are beating them instead of making excuses. Which are you?

George has my cousin helping him set up the car he goes back to Bill Bailey when he started he helped Jamie Smith and for a lot of years went to Attica and Fremont to wrench for Lee and Kenny Jacobs so yeah setup has a lot to do with it and when you have an experienced guy setting it up it helps you get the car handling a lot quicker as for Don building and  also teching the engines I can't think of anything that would kill his reputation and business any quicker than cheating plus I am pretty sure he has other knowledgeable guys around him that see what he is doing so I don't see a problem with him doing both.

I welcome anyone who wants to put up the money and go about it the correct way to take my engines apart. I assure you Don Blackshear is not going to put his engine shop at risk and his lively hood on the line for a local 305 team running thunder mt speedway and little old mercer raceway park on the weekends. Blackshear is involved with the crate lates. Tied into pace performance engines. Is in the process of developing a 305 engine for knoxville. And runs a top nitro funny car. If you guys believe for one second he would put all he has worked for at risk to cheat in a 305 sprint division your all crazy. So not being smart. But we do not except checks. Put up 500 dollars cash. We immediately go to a neutral location. Bill Taft owns the rights to outlaw sprint warriors. He will be present during tear down. Bring your engine builder to watch it being taken apart and checked. It's simple. Nothing to hide. Arrange the time and place and the car will be there.

Joe, never let the facts get in the way of complete bullshit on Racestud. An anonimous keyboard cowboy who keeps changing his identity obviously has more credability than a nationally known engine builder.

AMEN to 3799.  I said this before.  Some people get great joy out of posting, just to see how far they can go.

Who cares it's just a stepping stone class till you move up to a 410, no one will make a career in just the 305 division

When someone is trying to ruin the reputations of others, we should care. And ruining clowns like that don't care about divisions.

The All Pro heads on 305 sprints are spec heads like the Racesaver Brodix heads.

I have watched 305s for a long time and much of the credit goes to Dons father in law Bill and men like Pappy Kerr that built winning motors on little more than a lack of money and good old American ingunity my one question is do we really want another controled division like Nascar ?  If major concerns happen to be costs of building a race car you are most likley in the wrong sport and if you will do some research on the Quarterson ,Buddy, Blaney era there was so much inovation it made for some of the best competion ever.

When you figure out how to keep racers from spending money on their cars you then can bring our national debt into the black again that is a fantasy and it will only be accomplished when we are comfortable going to the rental Cart Track and calling it a race track .

Racers are the best untapped group of inventors in the world why cant we just appreciate them and enjoy the races.

Just my opinion no need to respond

I  remember running Canfield, Sharon, Expo.  Stock div. ran a 270 cid.  I know the track champ was checked 4 times and was UNDER the legal limit.  It's not only the engine, but the way the car is set-up, and the driver.
