I've seen guys like Jimmy Stephens at PPMS and Kenny Scheltenbrand at Lernerville/Marion Center win Super Late Model races with well underfunded teams over the past few years, so you can win against some pretty tough racers and well healed teams.

2014. If you run top 10 with that used aluminum 406, Same 1 or 2 night old Hoosier's for the night, A set of shocks that really should be checked if I had a spare or 2. And I would really like to get that lighten tranny and driveshaft so I could get rid of this extra 49lbs I keep carrying over the scales but this 2 yr old rocket is 11lbs heavier than a new one.

2015. same driver. finds mega dollars thru new sponsor, buys 2 new latest and greatest chassis, finds out the crew chief he has always wanted excepted his offer. Has 2 new set on kill roush/Yates 430's. The lightest Bert tranny, carbon fiber driveshaft, mag. Winters rear, shocks I have so many I don't no what to tell my crew. I got Racks of tires to choose from, sizes, compounds, wheel offsets, I have to add 12 lbs of lead to make weight now.

middle groove sam, 2014, has best finish of 5th place at knob creek racetrack.

middle groove sam, 2015, tri-state most wins.

For guys like this MONEY can make all the difference . Or your the guy that gets handed the silver spoon and get the best equipment from day 1.

Talent gets you in the top 10
Talent and CASH gets you anywhere you want to go.

Kenny Shaltenbrand has always been good at making the best out of less than perfect products. I give him a lot of credit. But I agree coconut, no doubt it is difficult to win in western PA

The part some people miss is that tracks can rarely take more than 550hp and being under power is actually an advantage ... It's a lot easier to drive a car with the correct amount of power than one that has 400hp too much ...
