FASTRAK keeps number of races at 10 to qualify for WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP September 18/19

The FASTRAK World Championship weekend is slated as the largest crate late model championship in the world and continues to be so in 2015. Drivers from around the United States are vying for a chance to come and compete at this prestigious event. “It’s true this is the single largest paying event in crate late models on the planet” said Don Lester from marketing at FASTRAK. The most astounding part of this weekend is that Stan has kept it members only” said Lester. “There is no real members only championship left in the country that I’m aware of, but I’m not sure how much longer this one can be either”.
The FASTRAK racing series and Virginia Motor Speedway Officials met this past week and decided to keep the number at 10 to qualify to come to the 2015 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP weekend. “Yes we have been forced to make some decisions in the past to reduce the number of races to come” stated Stan Lester of FASTRAK. “Be it weather, in one instance even snow up North or whatever the case might have been we changed it, but this year the decision is ten races as stated from the beginning of the season. We have races coming up in which teams can get their races counted as 2 for 1 to come to the season ending championship which would mean five races equates as ten and as long as you are a member, you are qualified for Saturday nights portion of the event”.
The following races will be counted as 2 per event:
1. Lavonia Speedway - $2000 to win – Friday August 7th “Firemans Fund Benefit”
2. Toccoa Speedway - $2000 to win – Saturday August 8th “Stephen Wragg Memorial”
3. Tyler County Speedway- Twin $1000 to win – Saturday August 15th -
4. TBD - $2000 to win – Friday September 4th – (Trying to reschedule, will be cancelled if not.)
5. I-77 Speedway - $5000 to win – Saturday September 5th – “Moonshine 50”
6. Wythe Raceway - $3000 to win – Sunday September 6th – “12th Annual Pro Late Model Nationals”
7. Travelers Rest Speedway - $2000 to win – Monday September 7th – SC State Championship
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND SEPTEMBER 18-19
Friday – September 18th – Open Practice for everyone - $5000 to win WORLD CHALLENGE (cannot have run a super late model in 2015 to compete for this event) Top 2 get guaranteed starting positions in WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Saturday – September 19th - $15,000 to win WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
For either race of the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP you must be a member and must have in 10 races at a FASTRAK weekly sanctioned track and/or tour events or combined 10.
