Based on the success of the August 1st racing program Tri-City Raceway Park management has announced that they will host the "Oil Valley Shootout" on Saturday, August 15th.  The event will feature the Super Late Models, RUSH Pro-Late Models, E-Mods and Pro-Stocks (Penn Ohio rules).

"Mother Nature forced the cancellation of the events we had originally planned for May and June so we wanted to provide area racing fans and teams with the opportunity to get out to the raceway and enjoy some additional racing action if our Sunday dates were not convenient for them," stated co-promoter Chad Wagner.  "In addition the closure of facilities in northwestern PA and southwest NY has created a void for competitors in the region and we wanted to provide them with the opportunity to compete at another venue if they so desired."

The Saturday, August 15th event will provide race fans with a two day race weekend as on Sunday, August 16th, Tri-City Raceway Park will feature the ULMS Super Late Models, RUSH Pro-Late Models (Bill Emig Memorial), UEMS E-Mods and the Pro-Stocks (Mercer Open Stock rules).

The August 15th racing card will feature the Super Late Models in a 25 lap main event paying $1,500.00.  The feature events for the RUSH Pro-Late Models, E-Mods and Pro-Stocks will each be 20 laps.   Complete payout information is available by "Clicking on the photo below."

Drivers are reminded that Raceivers are mandatory.

Pit Admission gates will open at 3:00PM with General Admission gates for both events opening at 4:00PM.  Hot laps will begin at 5:00PM.  Racing action will begin at 6:00PM.

Grandstand Admission for Adults 18 and over is $15.00; Students (13 through 17) $5.00 and Children 12 and Under are Free.  A Family Pass which includes Two Adults and a maximum of four students is $35.00.  Pit Admission is $30.00.

Camping is permitted and is free of charge however there are no hookups.  Race fans should also note that a "Touch A Truck" event will be held on the speedway grounds from 3:00PM to 5:00PM on Sunday, August 16th.  Fans of all ages will be able to see and sit behind the wheel of various types of rescue vehicles, heavy equipment and of course race cars.

Fans and drivers are also encouraged to sign up for raceday weather alerts by clicking on the "Rained Out" logo on the speedway website, www.tricityracewaypark.com.  In the event inclement weather forces the cancellation of our evening's racing action you will be among the first to know.

The racing season is rapidly coming to a close and Tri-City Raceway Park would like area fans and race teams to enjoy some exciting Saturday and Sunday night racing action before football, fall festivals and falling leaves 'take center stage.'
