I have been in contact with Buddy and his family recently and want to give everyone an update Buddy was released from the hospital today where he has been a patient for about two weeks he was first admitted for an appendicitis and when they operated  for that they found a spot on his colon.

 

I talked with him today and will see him as soon as he is settled in at home, his address is as follows Buddy Cochran  2139 Woodbine Dr. Hermitage Pa. 16146  I would suggest a flood of encouraging cards be sent there.

 

Buddy has been an icon in sprint cars for many years as well as big block mods we need to encourage him and his family as he recovers.please pray healing prayers for this amazing driver.

I just got back from a visit with Buddy he was in good spirits and was eating when I arrived he told me he needs to eat he has lost about 30 pounds we talked about a lot of racing he seemed to want to tell me stories ,again send him a card it will fill his day while he is recovering.

How old is Buddy and what year did he first start racing?

Buddy is 83 I will guess it was about 1951 or 1952 I will ask him next time saw him first at Pulaski Speedway he told me he was in that pond so many times they called it Cochrans Pond.
