Has anyone heard the rumors about Marion Center Speedway?

There have been many rumors about Marion Center over the years, maybe enlighten us as to what you are referring to.

Next year there running Super Sprints, Super Late's, 2 barrel Emods and 4cylinder FWD run what ya brung; and will be racing Sundays because of Tri City racing on Saturday.

 

 

edit:  The 4cylinder FWD run what ya brung is open tires and rims.

They are starting a new Late Model sanction called LMAO It will award points up to the year 2525.

Sold for gas well drilling?

They have drilled a total of two Marcellus gas wells in that area of Indiana County. One on Rt 210 and one along Rt 119. I know various land owners in that area who have been permitted for multiple wells that have been told that all drilling has been suspended indefinitely in that area.

why would they strip for coal? they have a gold mine now. but it will take some effort

Is the senior Potts still alive ? I believe his kids are running the place now, correct ? If so, you need to remember, those kids where raised at that place. In today's world of struggling car counts and the many other variables in the operation of a speedway. Time may have finally gotten to the point of they just want to step back and collect the profits from the grounds. Challenger went through the process. The circumstances where much different, but, The checks keep coming in and Jack has told me personally. All the headaches are gone.

According to their homepage, they plan on running next season because it is their 50th anniversary. Maybe after that they are done? With the weakness of the natural gas industry I agree that it is not going to be a gas well so may be their would be a shift to coal?  I don't know.

 

If you update the lighting, restrooms, and track surface you would have a pretty good race track.
