Haven't heard anything, but remember she went on a rant after last year's chili saying she'd never hold another

Is it that big a loss, running 100 laps for what is would be a 30 lap or even a regular purse at most other venues.

The race was never meant for bigger teams that cared about the money. It was a neat deal for the lower buck guys to run a 100 lap race that we never got to do and it still payed better than what we normally get.

It was a race started by Janey Flora. Its been held at many tracks including Ace High, Clinton County, Hummingbird, Thunder Mountain. Everyone mocks 100 laps for $3000 to win $300 to start. And really on the surface I get it, but look at it this way, Hummingbird and most of the tracks around here pay $600 to win $100 to start. The Chili 100 is 4 times the laps of a regular show. If you won 4 races you still would only get $2400. Its a race geared towards us "hillbillies" as The Legend call us.

I don't really think that it was bouncing around from track to track that killed it. The Stephanie Eckl memorial does the same thing and still gets a pretty good turn out of cars, however it pays around 3000 to win same as the Chili with less laps. I only ran the Chili once and had a bad taste in my mouth. I supported the race, but I didn't support the beating I took. a lot of guys were beating and banging the whole race long. And most of the lower tier teams around here can't complete a lap without a caution. I think it took over an hour and a half to complete the Latemodel race at AMP.

Why not have at the New Old Bradford Speedway?
That would be a great little bull ring.

you're suggesting putting 24 latemodels on that track for 100 laps?!
That would be a 300 lap race including caution laps

Actually the ULMS race at AMP did have quite a few cautions. And the caution laps counted for the first half of the race. As for running the non-qualifiers race, this isn't the ULMS series, Lucas, or WoO that we're talking about. This is the Chili. A race known for lots of cautions, and shitty payouts. Janey would most likely be happy to put on a show with only 18 cars instead of 24. She only paid out the top3 anyway. and don't expect the extra 6 spots to be added to the overall payout. that gets pocketed. This is a true all or nothing race. you make the show or you go home empty handed.
